Great! Thank you so much for sharing what you are planting in zone 9 central Florida. I am also in central Florida. I will be planting a much smaller garden than you have for this year and some in containers, and I will let you know if I have really good results from anything. I hope to expand eventually, but I need to get experience and familiarity with growing some of my favorites first. Do you not have problems with squash vine borers or squash bugs on your zucchini, yellow and butternut squashes? If you do something special to control those, I would love to know how. I am planning to start a couple of zucchinis in containers to see how they do. I’m thinking if I have them in containers on my patio maybe the bugs won’t find them as easily…lol. Let me know what you think. I really appreciate your advice.

What town do you live in FL (zone 9) ? You’ve mentioned frost a few times. I’m looking to move South of Orlando and wasn’t hoping for frost ๐Ÿ™

  4. Jacqueline on January 14, 2022 at 6:01 pm

DeLand Fl 9b here, moved my garden boxes and building a new one this weekend. Relieved to know I still have time. I’m going to start my journal today! I’ve been keeping a text file and pinterest pics as a journal. I can see there is more I need to record.

That seed disk is interesting, especially since I use 25 gallon containers. My summer kale and arugula is just now starting to bolt so I will be planting my fall garden later also being in Jupiter FL

I have and am going to try several of what you’re doing! I’m excited to see and compare. I think I started some things a bit too early the heat and rain has been so intense. (Full moon last month). Glad I found your channel!

Hi! I just found your site. I live in Lutz, zone 9B. My husband is going to build me a few raised garden beds to start my Fl garden. I have gardened before in NJ, but this is my 1st time in Fl and have no idea what to plant when. Looking forward to watching more!

  9. Bee Happy on January 14, 2022 at 6:10 pm

The first few time I grew beets I didn’t have luck. What I learn is, once the greens grow large then the roots will swell and they need water. I had success the last 2 years, I do grow in Hydroponic stackers. I didn’t know I could put flowers in this time of year. Cool thanks! I shared your video With that group I am in one Facebook.

Good stuff. Thanks for the ideas. I’m over here in Vero Beach, 9B.
You might consider adding some Yuca. Seriously easy, and gives you a huge crop in about a year or so. Plant one a month for a monthly harvest.

You are truly amazing. That’s a lot to plant . I was wondering if you keep records of what brand of seeds did the best

I love your garden and try to be organic, even though it’s hard in Florida! But please don’t be afraid of GMO seeds. Only farmers can buy and plant them and they don’t save the seed. However, they are a driving force for future global sustainability, less dependence on pesticides, and a more abundant food supply. Many developing countries are starting to benefit from this. In the US, almost all corn, soy, and most sugar is a result of GMOs. It’s important to keep our heirloom seeds growing, but GMO seeds are actually pretty amazing.

yes thank you my husband thinks you can plant lettuce year round, and tomatos but it’s very hot for a lot of vegetables. I been trying to explain to him that you have to wait for it to cool down …. Great video

  25. Dakota Warner on January 14, 2022 at 6:50 pm

Was looking for someone on YouTube in my same zone here in FL. Iโ€™m excited to see what youโ€™re planting! Have you tried the square foot gardening method?

  26. zsazsa bodine on January 14, 2022 at 6:50 pm

I’m in Brooksville, zone 9a and I have really been struggling with getting my fall garden started with the heat, daily rain deluge so the ground stays wet all the time and that attracts non-stop MOSQUITOES! ACK! I am hating it.

  27. SimAj on January 14, 2022 at 6:52 pm

Can we grow cucumbers in fall in this zone ? Thanks for your video ๐Ÿ™‚

  28. Konscious Kat on January 14, 2022 at 6:53 pm
