Winter Sowing in Zone 4

Winter Sowing in Zone 4

Hi everyone. This is my first year for winter sowing. I hope this works for me because it was really fun and interesting. I am using the milk/water jug method since I am huge on recycling and this definitely will cut down on the cost of sowing seeds. Hope you enjoy!

This is my first year of winter sowing too in zone 4. Sowed leafy veggies, cold crops, poppies, daisies & cosmos.

Hi Susie, I’ve seen quite a few gardeners trying this method of winter sowing but I’m afraid to. I’m going to get some seed starter trays today and plant my seeds indoors. I haven’t done this for years because the seedlings get so long and leggy but I’ll try again. I’ve started digging a new, large flower bed in my back yard (the dog yard) which will probably get ruined but I can control them better than the deer that browse my front yard. Happy planting!! 🙂

Great vlog, I love sowing my first seeds ☺️ I’ve just sewn my first on a windowsill propogator, some coleous, platycodon and lobelia. I couldn’t wait any longer 🤣
