Winter Gardening Zone 5b

Winter Gardening Zone 5b

Just a quick look at what is growing on in the greenhouse and outside in the garden here in zone 5b.
I’m not a master gardener or a head chef. I have success and I have failures. But I love to learn and I love to share with others. I developed a passion for gardening as well as cooking and I continue to learn new things along the way. Join me and follow along! I like to do things easily and organically if I can help it. I also like to grow the most food in the least amount of space as well as keep the cost of gardening to a minimum. I like to DIY a lot in the garden and use things that are already at my disposal. I love simplicity!

I’m thinking about cutting my mustard greens and blanching them. Or letting them continue to grow. I don’t know which I want to do yet. They’re outside with a bird netting on them and plastic cover when it gets too cold. It’s dropping to 20 tonight but it’ll be in the 40s and 50s during the week so I’m just gonna leave them alone. My rutabaga’s are just the tops.

I’m in grow zone 5B. I have a wood built greenhouse that has a base heater, ceing fan and windows in the front. Can I start the growing process now?
