Hi Jenna, I’m new here. Im in zone 6A in utah. We just had snow and our ground is still hard, should I wait on planting roots, peas and potatoes. I have planted my sweet and hot peppers indoors and soon a few others that was suggested in the almanac. I have to admit this is confusing as I normally plant when the ground isn’t hard.

6a. Snowed seeds and put frost covers on this past weekend πŸ‘πŸ». Carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, onions, turnips, radishes and top dressed beds. It was a very productive weekend! Even installed trellises before sowing peas!

Great variety! I just planted carrots, dill, onions, and thanks to you blueberries in a pot. Tomatoes and California Reapers (not carolina) are started indoors. By the way I nixed the potato tower idea. Going to stick with my ruth stout taters. Well my whole garden is ruth stout. Thanks for all you do!

I gotta get some row covers too. And I started my peppers mid February…I ended up having 3 flushes of peppers last year.

I am suprised that you use semo seeds in usa. It is well known brand here in central europe.

Just put most of those greens out a week ago. Dang broccoli went leggy and had to start over, lol. Jules!
Like your timing strategies on the starts.
I tell you what, started our tomatoes mid Feb (8 weeks before last frost) and welp, could have waited until four weeks. They are going gangbusters! Will probably up plant 3 to final destination containers this weekend. But still have 15 to hold back for another 26 days. I mean good lord. 6-8 weeks is too early, at least in a 3 inch peat pot. Live and learn I guess.
Thanks for the run down. I feel better. I more than less followed what you suggested but a bit earlier, zone 7b.
Have a super Saturday Jenna! πŸ‘πŸ‘Šβ˜€οΈπŸ…

Thanks, very inspiring! I have a community garden with clay soil and it seems a bit comparable to yours. I’m in the east of the Netherlands in Nijmegen. I’ve sown my first crop in the last weekend of February andthe spinach, lettuce and radish are nicely germinated. Onions and kohlrabi are still not visible, but no worries.
