Hi Jenna, another great video! I decided to try a fall planting of cabbages collards and kale. My thinking was that the pest problem would not be as bad in the fall. However, I transplanted my seedlings last week and they were terribly ravaged. Can you give some tips about care for brassicas once they are transplanted? Should I have covered them, or protect them some other way?

Wonderful information. I’m in 6a as well over in Missouri. I’ve had a sudden desire to have a garden again after some time away from it. I feel like I may be just a hair too late to make it happen. My garden area is small and I can cover it for cold nights. I plan on sowing directly into the garden: radish, parsnip, beet, leek, turnip, brussels sprout, broccoli. Sounds like I should plan on some lettuce too, I have never attempted a lettuce before. Does this selection sound like I may have a fighting chance at a harvest? I can acquire seeds tomorrow and have my garden prepped and planted on Monday. You’ve got my sub, I just wish I had decided on this a few weeks ago.

I tried a fall garden last year and many things didnโ€™t work out but my leafy greens did. Gonna try again this year. Thinking leafy greens, carrots, herbs and broccoli.

This is great information I am in zone 5/5b I plant my second brassicas in mid July. I lost all my seedlings this year due to being out of town for three days and relying on others. I generally move Carrots in the hoop house in early September I plant hem in containers. I would love to have a green house so I could extend even further. Thanks for the video you always do a great job.

Yep yep and yep. And you know? I have never done starts inside for the fall garden. Why? I’m an idiot. lol. Of course! Good lord. My mid July seeding? Half is gone from the heat and critters except the peas. Thank you buddy. Every time I watch you something pops up in my mind. Growing a bit of what you mention, but still focused on those dang tomatoes. Second wave? Let’s hope. ๐Ÿ‘

Awww I love the little black kitty that just had to jump in for a snuggle ^_^ hahaha! This is my first year attempting some fall crops in my containers. Itโ€™s still getting up to the high 80โ€™s some days here, so I sat them in partial shade in hopes that the seedlings donโ€™t fry in the sun. Really wish I had room indoors to start plants. Iโ€™m in NC zone 7b and our seasons change pretty drastically, like its either real cold outside or real hot!
