What can you still plant in July? [Zones 3 and 4]

In Gardening Zones 3 and 4 July is a nice warm month. But you live in a cold zone and it is already time for you to start thinking about planting cool-season crops again.

Your focus on July planting is going to be getting the first of your fall crops planted, which can resist frost that will be coming early to your backyard garden. Here are the planting lists for July:

    You can’t plant spinach in July in zone 4. It’s too frickin hot! You should keep your garden advice to the zone you live in. You obviously don’t know much about zone 4a in northern Wisconsin where I live.

    I’m in zone 3 and we are getting temperatures in the 90s. Zone 3 doesn’t mean a cooler summer it just means a shorter summer. We do have longer days in the summer.

    You can’t plant Brussels sprouts in July in zone 4! They would never mature in time. They take 90 days!
