Is it cheaper to pay for veggies at the grocery store or to pay for the electricity?

  2. zully lozano on March 30, 2022 at 5:54 pm

Luke, are those new grow lights, Could you please tell us more about them? I’m currently looking for a grow light system to start seedlings. I’d appreciate some
    guidance on the subject. Thanks!

    Very excited for this series!!

I have been around this channel for years. I do eat plant based and have for a couple years. Please don’t let this channel become about eating plant based. Showing us how you grow the plants is enough and very interesting. It would be pretty cool if you sold a seed bundle of what you are growing so people could grow along with you. It wouldn’t even need to be discounted… but I could see many growing along with you. It would be cool if you sold seed bundles of what you are going to put in your garden next year… and seed bundles of what you are about to start for your starters. That would be pretty awesome… even if you said hey I only have _____ of these available right now.

I don’t know about SOAPY, but my husband and I both find that cilantro tastes like it’s spoiled. Maybe that’s the soapy taste you’re talking about, I only know that it tastes LITERALLY rotten to us.

  6. Stephen Heiser on March 30, 2022 at 6:03 pm

MIGardner you should check out pink Himalayan salt. It has like 75 minerals that normal salt doesn’t. It’s all we use. Comes from Pakistan I believe.

  7. Steven Pope on March 30, 2022 at 6:03 pm

Can you make this collection of seed available as a bundle purchase? What would the estimated cost be?

  8. jackie littlefield on March 30, 2022 at 6:03 pm

luke good luck on all your seed planting I hope everything goes well

  9. Simply Raising Arrows on March 30, 2022 at 6:05 pm

Do you have an actual old fashioned paper catalog ? I didn’t see it on your site .

  10. Gary H on March 30, 2022 at 6:06 pm

Luke is the bouquet dill one you would recommend if you need to grow a lot? I had to buy dill 7 or 8 times last year it got rather expensive.

  11. Bonnie Taylor on March 30, 2022 at 6:07 pm

They did a science experiment separating the chemical components of cilantro to see why folks are so polarized about it. They found there was one single component that if the test subjects could not detect by smell, then cilantro tasted like soap. So either you love it or hate it. No middle ground. Unfortunately, I’m in the "tastes like soap" group.

  12. Mary Fougner on March 30, 2022 at 6:08 pm

How big are the grow frames you use? It looks like 1x4s, and you gave the gardening footage in the beginning. I’d like to make mine a bit deeper. How do you control for humidity? My house is warm but dry, even with a humidifier

  13. Dave Sterchele on March 30, 2022 at 6:09 pm

Is this the same bed you used last year? What did you do with the soil from 2017s bed?

  14. Lisa Moore on March 30, 2022 at 6:10 pm

    Great video and great idea!!!

  15. Mary Rancourt on March 30, 2022 at 6:13 pm

Love this video. I might do this next winter, once I can get a decent light system put together. Showing each individual envelope and explaining why each variety was chosen is a big help, too. I am especially interested in seeing how the indoor cucumbers turn out.

  16. Paula Tuttle on March 30, 2022 at 6:14 pm

Sometimes I wish you listed the variety and links to products used in the video in the description.

  17. ChelsPots Gardening on March 30, 2022 at 6:14 pm

the soap taste is from coriander.. I think she has it mistaken for cilantro.

  18. jred1838 on March 30, 2022 at 6:15 pm

How are the plants doing in your hoop house?

  19. Terrantula77 on March 30, 2022 at 6:16 pm

Great video Luke! Just got done with your live video on your journey to a plant based diet. I love that you are starting more videos regarding indoor gardens. Keep up the good work! 🙂

  20. tangobayus on March 30, 2022 at 6:16 pm

Do you adjust your lights to take advantage of the inverse square law? If you halve the distance you quadruple the intensity.

  21. Courtney Heil on March 30, 2022 at 6:17 pm

We have a 4′ by 4′ raised bed in our backyard and it would be awesome if there was a Kit on the migardener website designed for small spaces. We tried planting what we could find around but it was later in the season and my spacing wasn’t the best.. our tomatoes took over all the sunlight. Oops! At least we got tomatoes 🙂

  22. Cynthia Hamblin-Perry on March 30, 2022 at 6:18 pm

FYI Salt is not bad for you – store table salt full of additives is bad but himalayan pink salt, celtic sea salt or redmond’s real salt is very beneficial Our bodies need salt and good salt contains other minerals as well.

  23. Marsha Mahaney on March 30, 2022 at 6:18 pm

Could you please enunciate or print the name of the seed packet. I had a hard time seeing them.

  24. Kyle Merl on March 30, 2022 at 6:19 pm

I’m looking forward to this series. I had started a garden in my backyard but gave up on it because I simply don’t get enough sunlight in my yard to grow anything. Kale was my only successful plant. I’m looking forward to see how well you do with the "non-greens" you are growing. It would also be beneficial if you followed up with some recipe videos using the vegetables that you are growing in this series as well.

  25. Notroveil on March 30, 2022 at 6:21 pm

I just had to order the Tiny Tim and Spacemasters just to give them a try. I grow indoors quite a bit and these look great. Can’t wait until the seeds arrive. Great video as always, take care.

Awesome! Thank you Luke. Love it! Mycorrhizae!!!

  28. Dave Sterchele on March 30, 2022 at 6:23 pm

So excited to see this video series! I’m in Galesburg, Michigan and have two grow lights going in my basement with several potted plants underneath. I have 5 dwarf cherry tomatoes going gangbusters right now with at least 3 dozen tomatoes total. Can’t wait for them to turn red! Also cantara bush beans, basil, spinach and holy thai basil (which I just finished harvesting.) Everything except two of the bean plants are growing very well. Two of the bean plants had soil that might have been too dense. The ones in the light, airy soil are doing fine. The biggest problem I had was fungus gnats which I solved with a dip into water with rosemary oil, gnatnix on the top of the containers (about 1 inch) and yellow sticky paper. Took a couple weeks but they all seem to be gone now.

I’m so excited to see the next episode!!!! I’ve learned so much from watching your channel.

You should put the links to your plants you’re going to use

Yay, I’m really looking forward to the videos on indoor gardening 🙂

Can you give us more information on the lights you use?

  35. Age Sam on March 30, 2022 at 6:33 pm

Does the mycorrizae fungus die without a living root and water?

  36. MediaFX Video on March 30, 2022 at 6:35 pm

Those t5s can only penetrate 6-8 inches. I grow Tom Thumb indoors and I use really intense 300 watt (1000 watt equivalent) 2 huge cfl bulbs along with 2 t5 units for short plants. I think you’ll get flowers with your current setup but I’m not sure how much fruit you’ll get with tomatoes and cucumbers. They really need a lot of focused light to create fruit.

  37. JEPCo Zenith on March 30, 2022 at 6:37 pm

Where can we get those varieties of seeds? JK.

  38. Barbara Dumler on March 30, 2022 at 6:37 pm

I would like to see how you prep the box with the pro mix. I am a visual person and that helps. Show us step by step. Thank you for your videos.

  39. Mark PNW on March 30, 2022 at 6:41 pm

How deep are your indoor beds, are you using the same ones you used for your hydroponic setup?

  40. bordom on March 30, 2022 at 6:41 pm

is there any way to inspire mutation’s in seeds

  41. domestic goddess on March 30, 2022 at 6:42 pm

Where is the video on building the beds? What is the liner material?

  42. Murlockingqc on March 30, 2022 at 6:43 pm

    Radish pesto, try it 🙂
I made ton of it this summer and it was so good ! Very spicy!!

  43. Donna on March 30, 2022 at 6:45 pm

Luke love this, I got an aerogarden for Christmas. It’s so much fun to be growing herbs inside when it is single digits or lower outside. I am really having a blast growing basal, tyme, dill and a few other things that came with it. But I think it might even be possible to grow those tiny tomatoes in it. Might have to give it a try.

  44. JL Bailey on March 30, 2022 at 6:45 pm

Mi Gardener Id love to see or hear about how you created your bed for indoor growing. I can imagine the basics but would love to know if I’m missing something before beginning. Thanks for a great video!

  45. dawgg0077 on March 30, 2022 at 6:45 pm

Luke, what did you use as a liner material?

  46. Jimmy John on March 30, 2022 at 6:46 pm

The wife & I recently converted a space in our house into a grow room. We got a really good deal on three 4X2 grow lights, so we figured, why not? We’ve been at it for about a month now, and it is a lot of fun! Love your channel and all the great information you share! Keep up the great work!

  47. Cannabis origanum on March 30, 2022 at 6:47 pm

Hey Luke. How did the winter planting of greens and stuff you did recently outdoors turn out? Could you do an update? Cheers!

  48. Tan Wei Song Beck on March 30, 2022 at 6:50 pm

this video has motivated me to start a small vegetable within my apartment. I wanted to grow dwarf tomato vilma but what is the recommended spacing between the plant you would recommend? 6" or 1ft apart? I would like to try out high intensity as what you are doing.

  49. OverGrowTheUK on March 30, 2022 at 6:51 pm

    Happy new year luke

  50. Lois Hoffer on March 30, 2022 at 6:51 pm

Sorel is full of phthalates, so blocks absorption of many other nutrients. Cilantro liberates mercury, so be careful about that one if you still have "silver fillings". As for salt: try Herbamare, which is one-third bio herbs and veg, and uses sea salt which is not just sodium but a large part is potassium chloride. As for heirlooms and dwarfs..have you ever tried Tom Thumb head lettuce? It’s a perfect head of lettuce that’s only max 6in in diameter.
