What a gamefish.. I have yet to land one but I had a "snake hoo" and a of about 10lbs on and lost it .. Then a "smoker " came thru our chumslick and almost spooled me last year before pullin’ the hook.. all on a weedline about 30 miles out of Freeport..
You gotta love Texas. Going on a 30 hr. mid April, hope to pick up some who’s and tuna. Watch for the video.

You guys are pulling hooks bc you’re fighting from a deadboat. Keep the boat at 6-7 knots and those wahoo will stay up in the water column and not get a chance to head shake and spit the bait
