Just tried microwaving spinach seeds for 5 minutes…. that won’t work at all. I expected popcorn 🙁

Ashley, I just posted messages in the comment sections of other gardeners’ YT channels that I watch, referencing your video to try to help get the word out. The combined subscriber base of these changes is 2.3 million people. I know that on average only 10-15% of subscribers watch the videos of the channels they’re subscribed to, but that’s still 345,000 people. The dumbest things go viral; maybe this, which is something real and intelligent and truly helpful, will go viral.

I ordered bonsai seeds off WISH, they sent me the exact same seeds that fall from the tree in my garden.grrr

Some people have reported receiving seed packages via Amazon originating in China; the package lists the contents as ear studs.

I bought some seeds from Israel off of Etsy. They haven’t grown anything so thanks for the info to burn them.

Hey! I just found your channel today and I just wanted to tell you to keep going! I’ve been around for the growth of many small YouTubers, which later made news headlines. And I wanted to tell you, I truly believe you are going to be the next big thing, and one day you could make a living on these videos. If that’s what you want, of course. Just remember, don’t push yourself to make content, but also don’t stop being active on this channel. You go gurhl!!! 😀

Hadn’t thought of the ramifications of invasives etc that we get as indoor plants. What about indoor plants from local nurseries? I haven’t asked or researched where they source the seeds from. I would like to assume a reputable nursery would do their due diligence but I doubt that considering the number of invasives sold in nurseries. For my part I will stop trying to sprout strawberries and pineapples if they are from the US. Never ordered seeds from Amazon or Wish and wont be doing that. This is a good topic. Thx

Wow. Definitely accidentally guilty of this. I bought my first tomato & cucumber seeds for my balcony garden off Amazon. The package came, and it was in Cyrillic. I thought it was really interesting and cool…until a couple years later when the whole mystery seeds shipped from China thing was happening, and Amazon announced it was going to ban international seed shipping into the U.S. on its site. That’s when I found out my cool Cyrillic seed packets probably hadn’t been inspected like they were supposed to be, and that you generally cannot import international seeds into the U.S. To be fair, I had every reason to believe the seeds would be shipped domestically (they only took a couple weeks to arrive from a seller within the U.S.), and the same variety is available from domestic seed companies. It wasn’t until Amazon’s seed scandal I realized those seeds probably hadn’t made it through customs.

I ordered Hoya kerrii seeds from Wish and now am super regretful about this >.<! Kinda hoping my country’s agronomy finds them and burns them now. I really want hoya kerrii, but here in Chile they are almost impossible to find 🙁

In Croatia there is Japanese knotweed that is so hard to eradicate and it grows like crazy. There is also Ambrosia (from Nothern America) and in Adriatic sea is stuborn Caulerpa (from tropical seas) that is pure evil.

Serce, also some terrible vine, that will tear a house down!

  20. Scott Smith on May 4, 2022 at 7:36 pm

This reminds me of crossing the US/CANADA border. We crossed going into Saskatchewan from North Dakota. At customs their was a huge dumpster on Canadian side with huge letters. POTATOES. Obviously the US has brought in potato disease, and Canada isn’t tolerating
    This.

  21. WildEdibles on May 4, 2022 at 7:37 pm

Ive traded seeds with the us long ago
But i respect them so nothing spreads…wild dagga even the seeds dont germinate after our cold winters so i collect the seed pods to plant next year
They were from the us but originally an African plant
Sunopener is in a pot from mexico

Thank you for this video and more about the seed thing! Its very important to stay safe at this moment and not to risk it. My mother just ordered seeds from wish and I did tell her to not plant or use them! Thank you!

  23. Cori Cori on May 4, 2022 at 7:40 pm

Ella is so cute! Totally like her 😍

  24. Violetentity on May 4, 2022 at 7:41 pm

The eradication must not work well. I started an avocado tree from the seed of an avocado I ate. Now it may not have eventually had fruit on it. I eventually killed it as I kept forgetting to water it. It did grow to about 4 feet tall though.

  25. Sabine Gray on May 4, 2022 at 7:42 pm

Great video. I’d like to hear more about diseases in produce and altering foreign produce to make it safe for travel.

I bought banana tree seeds on wish and it planted one and it’s in a pot and it’s not a banana tree. It looks like a tall grass like plant. I have other seeds from wish. I will burn them. Thanks. ✌ and growers 💘

Invasives…. Orange Hawkweed, oh my god. Central BC is at war with Orange Hawkweed.

The current pandemic speaks volumes to your point of “one person, one plant… to annihilate the environment”.

  35. ARandomCanadian on May 4, 2022 at 7:53 pm

I ordered Echeveria Black Prince Variegated Seeds here in the Phillipines which was from the Phillipines and It germinated after 5 or maybe 6 days the leaves was variegated.

  36. Monica Woodbury on May 4, 2022 at 7:53 pm

I’ve ordered tons of great vedgy and native flower seeds from wish and such. I dont order invasive species! This actually upset me! I have beautiful papers! Coffee plants and so on! And I have a awesome garden… if your buying seeds, you shouldn’t by invasive species… im going threw hell killing a coulp of invasive species from next door . But a good gardening person buys stuff that isn’t invasive. I’ve got lily’s, all types of flowers, citrus trees, Coffee, and so much more! But only the stuff that the U.S has.. I got Olive seeds! The U.S.A charges a arm and a leg for olive trees! And fig! USA has these plants!

I planted seeds from a grocery store lemon and they have taken off ! Does this mean I won’t get fruit ? Or the fruit could have radiation ?

  38. Ke Le on May 4, 2022 at 7:54 pm

I just love Ella. I love animals. It shows that you love her, and she loves you. She looks happy, healthy, and very well cared for and about. 🦜❤️👍

I ordered in WISH, now afraid I’m may get weed seeds? Wish me luck

  40. nicola on May 4, 2022 at 7:56 pm

I’m a bit ashamed to admit I’ve bought seeds a couple of times from wish and the like – but thanks to your video I won’t do it again. And thinking about it now (which is better late than never I guess) it’s potentially an even bigger disaster here in a australia.

  41. Valerie Sanchez on May 4, 2022 at 7:57 pm

Bought some black diamond watermelon seeds off ebay.
They never germinated after two weeks.
    I was disappointed.

  42. Loriful on May 4, 2022 at 8:01 pm

recently I read in a plant wiki, can’t remember which one, that in the 1800’s a type of seed of a chinese plant were used as packing peanuts in crates shipped from china, and that the boxes had holes in them, so the seeds spilled out all along all the railroad lines. Oh, strawberry varieties grown in china are either recent american or japanese cultivars.
