Travis, help me a bit with Parthenocarpy. Do they need pollinators and/or would a cross pollination effect the seedless tendency. Is it different depending on the type and variety; i.e. cucumber vs watermelon?
    Thanks in advance

  2. Momma J on March 19, 2022 at 5:23 pm

My Christmas list is long and al, about gardening. 63 year old gardening kid. I know how young kids feel. Top of my list is soil (dirt), fertilizer, neem, seeds (yet I have left overs..adding new varieties plus), sugar cane, etc. I told you my list is long. Momma js country gardening will have an upcoming video on Christmas list for Santa. I hope you check it out!
    God bless you

  3. Jamie Hinton on March 19, 2022 at 5:26 pm

Dang I just received my seed order and y’all had to show me that transplant trowel 😣

  4. Tony Lopez on March 19, 2022 at 5:28 pm

I like those seed collections. If you can get those tins in that size, but taller so you can put the seed packs in there like a file in a file cabinet, I’d really like that. You could put a whole season’s worth of garden seeds in there and even categorize them. It could be a garden in a can. If you provide that, I’ll definitely buy it.

  5. Earl Caudill on March 19, 2022 at 5:29 pm

The old timers get up so early because they go to bed to early

  6. Jennifer Baker on March 19, 2022 at 5:29 pm

I would not know how I would act if my shirt didn’t have unexpected veggie harvest in it! Lol love the bucket!

  7. Travis Mattingly on March 19, 2022 at 5:31 pm

Hey man! Merry Christmas! But what is the difference between your fruit tree irritating kit and the container watering kit? Isn’t everything the same?

  8. wcrex103 Nelson on March 19, 2022 at 5:31 pm

Here in WI Good Friday is the date to put in spuds.

  9. Herb Counselorh on March 19, 2022 at 5:33 pm

Great show! I check daily to see if you have anything new posted; great info, entertaining show. May God bless.

  10. Timothy Smitherman on March 19, 2022 at 5:34 pm

I bought the 162 planting trays will y’all be able to get humidity domes for them in the future. Thanks and I love the show.

  11. The Working Man's Garden on March 19, 2022 at 5:34 pm

Travis, you just about nailed the pronunciation. Greg, you’re a bit off. 🤣 Thanks for answering my question!

  12. Weber Homestead on March 19, 2022 at 5:35 pm

Good show 👍 do you guys raise chickens? Would like to hear about it.

  13. Linda Estell on March 19, 2022 at 5:35 pm

Travis is it the Single Wheel Hoe that you are running short of because the cultivator tines have to be handmade?

  14. Fraser’s Girl on March 19, 2022 at 5:35 pm

Here in Kansas, zone 6b, we aren’t supposed to plant potatoes till the middle of March. If I order from you will they stay good for long enough to wait till then? I grew a tiny bit of potatoes this last spring and it was so exciting when I got to dig them!!

  15. Trudy Kelly Linscomb on March 19, 2022 at 5:37 pm

I will take one of each. Love the gloves.

  16. Pat Coleman on March 19, 2022 at 5:40 pm

Are y’all getting any more Texas legend onion seeds this year? I live in TN 7a but live in the bottom of a holler, my daylight is delayed around an hour. I’ve got some candy onions but want to try some short day onions too. I don’t want onions comin off in the middle of summer if I can help it. Keep it up boys. Thanks abunch!!!

  17. Nola Warren on March 19, 2022 at 5:43 pm

Seeing what happened to your garden was not easy to see but you never know how a winter garden will make it.

  18. Bianca Reichmann on March 19, 2022 at 5:44 pm

    Are the gardening gloves waterproof?

  19. Rebellion Point Farms on March 19, 2022 at 5:45 pm

Greg nailed it. I cant be in the bed but for so long. Back starts to hurt, hip starts to hurt..combine that with time running out and its a recipe for early rising with an old man power nap later.lol

  20. Chris Kerns on March 19, 2022 at 5:47 pm

Too many commercials in here. I’d rather watch a 1 or 2 minute commercial at the beginning rather than the video being interupted every few minutes

  21. wayne busse on March 19, 2022 at 5:49 pm

You guys deal with seed companies, maybe you can answer a question I’ve been wondering about for a few years. Since sweet corn seed is so uneven in size and shape, why don’t they pelletize it. The seed is so expensive, it would save me a lot of money if doubles and triples were eliminated. I have trouble with the Earth-way and the Hoss seeder dropping doubles and triples. If I make the whole smaller to avoid this, then I get a lot of skips. I plant around 50,000 sweetcorn seeds every year and it gets really wasteful and expensive to have to thin out the extra plants.

  22. Darla P. on March 19, 2022 at 5:50 pm

What is y’all’s opinion on suckering sweet corn. I was taught that the suckers that came out at the bottom took away from the quality of the ears??

  23. TIME HAS BEGUN on March 19, 2022 at 5:51 pm

    Y’all are the best!!!

  24. Michael Morris on March 19, 2022 at 5:53 pm

I love that fermentation kit… although my wife maybe not so much… I’ve taken over 1/2 a shelf in the fridge and Momma ain’t happy!

As a side note… my Christmas present to myself is a medium sized high tunnel… with plans to add to it as soon as I get it up and running… probably going to end up with about 80 feet to begin with. tired with fighting with mother nature on the weather… going on in on controlling everything!

  25. Nterrell7 on March 19, 2022 at 5:53 pm

What’s the difference between a seed potato and a regular potato?

  26. Dana Qatato on March 19, 2022 at 5:53 pm

Hey guys, love your show! Do you have to stake those Parisian Gerkhins in the pot?

  27. stevie henry on March 19, 2022 at 5:55 pm

Can you get botero tomato seeds from sakata seeds?

  28. The Loose Monkey Backyard Garden on March 19, 2022 at 5:57 pm

Great show guys ! What would be a good potato variety to grow in 20 gallon containers? Thanks

  29. lanesteele240 on March 19, 2022 at 5:58 pm

Can you make a video on how to hill vegetables with a double or single wheel hoe. Im sure i can figure it out but you guys are pros.

  30. David Who on March 19, 2022 at 5:59 pm

How many pounds of potatoes do I need for a 32 x 32 plot (1024 sq/ft), assuming about 8 in spacing? I can get 10 each 32 ft rows in with 3 ft spacing , so that’s 320 ft of potatoes. I’m thinking 3 rows of Yukon Gold, 3 rows of Kennebec White, 3 rows of. German Butterball, and maybe one row of Red Norland.

  31. Fred Mertz on March 19, 2022 at 6:00 pm

I’m watching Row by Row at 3:30 am.

  32. Clint Grantham on March 19, 2022 at 6:00 pm

Politics has had our attention for months and it sure is nice to get back to Row By Row!

  33. Dale Servidio on March 19, 2022 at 6:02 pm

    Are you father and son?

  34. Mary Beth Powell on March 19, 2022 at 6:03 pm

When using mustard as a cover crop and biofumigant, does it stink once it’s mowed and tilled in? I’m starting a garden in a suburban neighborhood and I don’t want to make myself and my garden unwelcome.

  35. Valorie Griego on March 19, 2022 at 6:03 pm

    Another great show!🙂

  36. Rebecca Fontes on March 19, 2022 at 6:03 pm

Great show as usual. Potato question: this past year I didn’t cut many of the seed potatoes due to limited space. I got almost no large potatoes, lots of teeny ones. Does cutting up the seed potatoes matter or was it something else I did wrong? This was particularly the case with the Austrian fingerling variety.

  37. Sally Hurt on March 19, 2022 at 6:03 pm

Love the show. Love how yall snack on what you grow too! And your shipping is amazingly FAST and every order I have put has been 100% accurate.

  38. Home Field Honey & Produce on March 19, 2022 at 6:06 pm

Any update on the microgreens kits and maybe the grow lights?

  39. Crystal Ann Cogburn on March 19, 2022 at 6:07 pm

Placed my first Hoss order last night and was able to pre-order seed potatoes. Tried growing potatoes for the first time this fall, it was impossible to find any seed potatoes, I found 1 small bag of purple potatoes. Tried growing in a potato grow bag and in a trash can. The grow bag did much better than the trash can method. Any other ideas for folks that don’t have large plots or traditional long rows? I also ordered a 162 cell tray to start my onion seeds. I am still very unsure about when to start my onion seeds and when is the best time to transplant them to the ground. I live in zone 6b. Love that you are a family owned company centered on Faith and doing people right and selling American made products!

  40. Dale Servidio on March 19, 2022 at 6:07 pm

Do you have a humidity dome for your 162 seed tray?

  41. Everett McDonald on March 19, 2022 at 6:08 pm

    Jing orange okra is AMAZING.

  42. Doozie on March 19, 2022 at 6:09 pm

I’m just going to say once again, not only do I love you guys and your seeds and tools, but Hoss Tools has the best seed packets in the industry, hands down. Everything I need to know when I’m planting is right there, and large enough that my dirt covered hands don’t need to fuss with reading glasses.

  43. Dale Servidio on March 19, 2022 at 6:09 pm

Love watching and listening to the two of you. Also love that you do so much taste testing. Nice to see you feature the foods you grow 😋

  44. SaveFerris on March 19, 2022 at 6:11 pm

Hahaha I laughed hard at getting up early because you’re hurtin. I like getting up early because it is quiet and in the summer it’s cooler! Nothing like being out in the yard with the dogs watching the bees wake up on the flowers and having a cup of coffee 👍

  45. Amelia-Irene in PDX on March 19, 2022 at 6:14 pm

Could you talk about the differences in field, English, sweet & any other pea? I was aware of bush peas vs climbing peas, but have only heard of the others recently.
    Also
if you are like me & have the hearing impaired words turned on, you can’t see any ofhing that you might have on the table through the words. If you could hold things about shoulder high before placing them on the table, that would be great.
Thank-you for going through your products for everyone & sharing your knowledge. From Porrland, Oregon (have finally hit 43 degrees after being in the 30’s yesterday & early this morning).

  46. The Out Of Doors on March 19, 2022 at 6:15 pm

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great but only a southerner would use fried chicken in a lettuce wrap 🤣.

  47. TalkingThreadsMedia on March 19, 2022 at 6:16 pm

Hope this helps… “H” is silent on Huitlacoche. You pronounced the rest correctly.

  48. Michael Morris on March 19, 2022 at 6:18 pm

How can anybody place an order at Hoss Tools and it be less than $100… It’s never happened at my house. I didn’t even know it was possible…………………

  49. My Suburban Adventures on March 19, 2022 at 6:18 pm

Thanks for another great show, you reminded me to order my potatoes for next year, got the gourmet mix. Keep up the great info shows there great.

  50. Dawn Donham on March 19, 2022 at 6:20 pm

I ordered potatoes from you yesterday. I’m in Montana, and was just told by a friend that you may not ship here due to strict regulations in our state. I don’t want to find out right before shipping that it isn’t possible. Who do I speak to to find out? Thanks!
