Just came across you video and love the garden! I just ordered some tree lilies and curious do you need to prune them in the fall? Thanks!

  6. Lotsielots on July 12, 2022 at 10:05 pm

I don’t think lillies are worth the effort. There must be beautiful sturdy plants with flowers to grow instead, maybe natives that are stronger against pests.

  7. ANN FORLBY on July 12, 2022 at 10:06 pm

Those lilies are gorgeous and so is your whole garden.

Beautiful tree lilies! I never knew about red lily beetles.

  10. Shirley Crawford on July 12, 2022 at 10:12 pm

Do you cut the tree lilies back or dig the bulbs and replant in the fall? I have 5 plants I planted this year and the flowers were amazing. Want to save them correctly for next year. Love, love your gardens. Thanks

Hello so quick questions how do you water them? I had some a few years ago and I end up killing them. Then somebody told me I watered them from the flower and not the soil.

  15. B A R E B O N E S ✨ on July 12, 2022 at 10:21 pm

This couple just makes me smile 😃. You should do more videos

  16. M K on July 12, 2022 at 10:21 pm

I love your lily video-of course. I have a few questions for you. First, what is milky spore, and where do you buy it? Second, I ordered lilies that will come as bare roots this fall. I’ve never had anything that came as bare root before, so I’m not sure what to expect. Should these plants end up being just as good as lilies that start from an actual bulb? I spent a ton of money, and I’m really nervous about it. If you only have time to answer one question, please answer the one about bare roots. Thanks…and I’m still amazed at your gardens every time I watch one of your videos. Have your gardens ever been featured in a magazine? If not, they should be. You should look into it.

Great review on your lilies. How many seasons have you had them? Are all of them from last fall planting.

  18. Janna Overstreet on July 12, 2022 at 10:21 pm

    You are hilarious! First time
Viewer and I get her madness!

  19. Robin Tranchina on July 12, 2022 at 10:22 pm

I love the results of your hard, tenacious work. Do you let the Lilly foliage get brown like Tulips, or do you cut it back after the flowers are finished?

  20. DixieGirl9876 on July 12, 2022 at 10:22 pm

I hear ya with the pest! I hunt Japanese beetles every morning and evening ( for a couple of months) and drown those suckers…with glee! Those beetle traps are the worst, they attract more beetle than they can kill, look it up. the best thing I found is to keep a few plastic take out cups throughout the garden with soapy water then just tap the leaves over the cup for them to drop into, no need to handle.

  21. Jackie’s Plant Haven on July 12, 2022 at 10:23 pm

How do you stake your lilies? Mine seem to flop over when they get tall.

  22. Jodi V on July 12, 2022 at 10:23 pm

I just got some asiatic lillies this year that are deep burgandy red.. loved them and was so excited.. but a bunny now has visited them for two nights and has eaten every single leaf on them.. I have nothing but stems left.. I wanted to cry.. After the first night I put a replant down but it did not help.. Praying they will come back next year and the bunnies leave then alone.

  23. Audrey Sweeney on July 12, 2022 at 10:23 pm

My lilies only get hâlf that size. I am Thinking they dont get enough sun.

  24. rierie c. on July 12, 2022 at 10:23 pm

Beetle traps are a very bad idea.
All the beetles will come 2 your property…and then..a lot will not make their way 2 the trap…they will see your plants and make a bee line to them instead..my neighbor has a trap ..I use a dust….and it works great.
    THANKS NEIGHBOR…MUCH APPRECIATED 🤣😉

I have learned so much from watching you videos, especially about pollinators and beetles (ugh). You know your topics and you’re an excellent teacher—clear and concise. Thank you.

Love the lilies, hate the beetles! My problem is flies. ugh, it’s difficult to enjoy the garden with flies swarming.

  27. Claudette Monty on July 12, 2022 at 10:26 pm

Do you try to pollinate your lilies like you do with Daylilies?? A video for Lilies will be fun to try

  28. Life's tapestry on July 12, 2022 at 10:30 pm

Never had mine grow so tall this year, they are probably encroaching 6ft and still no flowers yet…

  29. NeziNapps akaNezi on July 12, 2022 at 10:30 pm

  34. MacyLouWho on July 12, 2022 at 10:39 pm

Darlin’, go get yourself some neem oil and blast those buggy plants every once in awhile. The bugs will be gone.

  35. Ella MayoXOXO on July 12, 2022 at 10:39 pm

I just got two asiatic lilies that haven’t bloomed yet, i live in an apartment so they’ll be indoor for now , thank you for these videos!

  36. Claudette Monty on July 12, 2022 at 10:40 pm

If you don’t like to kill that silly red beetles with your hands or take them off, I took a pills totale, take off the top and with a small knife, make them fall in the bottle and put the top. When you want an other, shake the bottle, it will fall in the bottle and stop to move and you have time to put more of them. When finish, put the bottle in the freezer and the net day, they are dead and you didn’t put your fingers on them! Throw them in the garbage

  37. Pablo Rodríguez on July 12, 2022 at 10:41 pm

Have you tried potassium soap and neem oil? You can also use bacillus thuringiensis. They are organic products. I love your garden, bye, bye

  39. Avi S. Leigh on July 12, 2022 at 10:43 pm

I wonder if you could hard spray them with water and get beneficial insects? Any plant you could plant near them to sacrifice to the beetles? I have no idea what I’m talking about. Lol! But thoughts.

  40. Truth of the matter on July 12, 2022 at 10:44 pm

I’ve had no issues with lily beetles… knock on wood! The Japanese Beetles are trying to get to my plants but I’m managing to keep the at bay for the most part. I can’t stand those nasty bugs!

  41. Kena Kay on July 12, 2022 at 10:47 pm

Your lilies look great. I had the red lily bugs and mine don’t do well here. Maybe I need better soil next time.

Hi! How often do I water lilies after blooming, like fall and winter? Do they need fertilizer in winter, too??

  46. Amy Hoff on July 12, 2022 at 10:52 pm

I had 3 of the tree lilies at my previous home and wasn’t able to take them with me when I moved since it was winter , I should have planned it better . Yours look so beautiful 😍

You have such a beautiful property. You are definitely doing justice to such acreage, making the landscape thats peaceful and calming with the trees in the background, into something truly magical with your creative expression.
