All seeds are NOT the same.. Some companies actually spend the time to find good genetics and stabilize them. They also store and harvest them with more care.. What ypu end up with are seeds that germinate great and a better chance of healthy disease resistant plants…

That’s a good explanation for what Bakers Creek and Teritorial are sky high I’m their prices !

  3. Yong Brown on October 23, 2021 at 10:10 am

I don’t have to buy seeds yet until next year but on your website most of seeds are out of stock! I guess check back in January and I’m not sure whether your varieties are right for my area(Maryland) just wondering.

I didn’t find horseradish in your store. Where can I buy it? I refuse to buy on Amazon.

    Truth speak. 👍🏼

  6. Pamela Selden on October 23, 2021 at 10:13 am

A few years ago a couple of the big ag companies bought up these smaller seed companies. They kept the original company names, but most of the seed catalogs are from one or two companies like ConAgra. They now have GMO varieties.

  7. Backyard Specialist on October 23, 2021 at 10:13 am

Or just harvest your own seeds

  8. Notasha Pace on October 23, 2021 at 10:17 am

I do etsy and then I harvest seeds from the fruits and vegetables I grow and know how to harvest from

  9. ciel robinson on October 23, 2021 at 10:19 am

the pictures in catalogs are quite regularly photoshopped when it comes to bright colored flowers or fruits. i always search for the cultivar online and look at pictures of it from reviews, garden blogs, stuff like that. unusually colored varieties, more often than not, have their color saturation increased at the very least.

  10. Stravo Lukos on October 23, 2021 at 10:19 am

Most companies sell small gardeners too many seeds. How many tomato plants can one grow on 72 sq. ft? And what if I want to grow a few other vegies? How about scaling down to 10 or 12 seeds? But noooo, the big boys think only in mass, not volume. H8…..

  11. Alex V on October 23, 2021 at 10:20 am

I think MIGardener seed packs are beautiful and simple 🙂

  12. Kozickih on October 23, 2021 at 10:20 am

Oops. Already bought seed from the first place I found lol

Going to chock it up to last years pandemic shortages.

  13. Denise NJ on October 23, 2021 at 10:21 am

I bought n planted a bunch of different seeds from him and I planted tons so they would sprout and they ALL did and now there are way too many. Lol. And I still have lots left in the packages. This guy’s a manace!

  14. SefSufi SefSufi on October 23, 2021 at 10:22 am

Hey! Where do you recommend buying seeds online, a company that ships abroad that is. I hughly anticipate your answer sir.

  15. Linda Lee on October 23, 2021 at 10:23 am

I’m having trouble accessing how to order seeds. Can you help?

  16. Cris McLucas on October 23, 2021 at 10:26 am

Remember to figure in the cost of shipping and/or handling as well. Some companies charge a flat fee. Others charge per seed packet.

  17. MarielasSister on October 23, 2021 at 10:26 am

Another point to address, in my opinion is quantity of seeds. I live in a small land in the middle of a city. I don’t need a $3 pack of seed that has 300 seeds when I only have space to grow 10 plants. If I can find a pack that has 50 seeds for $1, i am paying more per seed but also saving $2 since I don’t have the space to grow 300 seeds. This is just my two cents. Take it with a grain of salt.

  20. Shawn Crowley on October 23, 2021 at 10:29 am

Bakers Creek is off line because of too many orders. I went there and they are closed to the public because of covid.

I was wondering if you can update this video since these are crazy times. I was at Lowe’s on January 2 they had their seeds out and people were buying seeds and soil mulch lumber.

Just want to let you know I enjoy all your videos. I think I’m through half of them

  21. therealz 360z on October 23, 2021 at 10:30 am

I definitely think Like is drunk i.m.o. in this video.

  23. Maia Toscanini on October 23, 2021 at 10:33 am

Much appreciated!! I comparison shop all of the time. Guessing I need todo the same for seeds.

  24. Cindy Skillman on October 23, 2021 at 10:34 am

😂 This year, 2021, yes, you really do need to buy it NOW. 😳 Otherwise you just might not get it at all.

  25. Shaken Grain on October 23, 2021 at 10:35 am

Love the videos and store, but having a little trouble identifying which plants are suitable for deep south zone 8. Most varieties seem to be northern zone faves? Hard to tell/info not given in store.

  26. DeWayne Olson on October 23, 2021 at 10:37 am

Why is I have requested a catalogs from you and have never received any, wheat do I do to get one?

  27. David Geyer on October 23, 2021 at 10:37 am

I’m sure this question has been answered are all the seeds from my plants tomatoes, peppers, beans etc. viable to plant I’ve heard more than once that hi-breeds seeds won’t germanat the second season true or false?

  28. Betty 1966 on October 23, 2021 at 10:39 am

So if most seeds come from the same place they could be spreading disease.

  29. Shalon Hutchison on October 23, 2021 at 10:41 am

Now that I’ve shopped at MIgardener… And other brand name places. For the same kinds of plants ..
I make my lists from whatever catalogs are lying around. Then I price check. And then I check MIgardener for the same variety.

If Luke has red Garnet Amaranth, even if it shows a lower price elsewhere I’m gonna bet that he’s sending more seeds… Especially if they only list weight on the packet.

I bought amaranth from 7 companies this year. 7 different varieties. Only Luke and Baker Creek even germinated… And his cost way less (99 cents vs 3.64) for quite a lot more seeds.
Just for anyone coming late to this video…

  30. amanda wilder on October 23, 2021 at 10:42 am

I see Territorial in the thumbnail, I’m from Cottage Grove Oregon, they sold Brussels sprouts in June, I didnt know better, they did. I planted it and it bolted, wasted money. But they do have great seeds.

  31. Ann C on October 23, 2021 at 10:43 am

You are awesome. I love my seeds. Cant wait to see them grow.

  32. Tammie Chacra on October 23, 2021 at 10:43 am

  33. Midsouth Homestead on October 23, 2021 at 10:43 am

You have come so far Luke. You do have great seeds. Thanks for your tips and information on gardening.

  34. Martha Kratz on October 23, 2021 at 10:45 am

I’m glad I happened to find this video from 6 years ago. I’ll order from your site next time.

  35. My Rural Life on October 23, 2021 at 10:46 am

The only correction is instead of just doing the price per seed, use this formula…. (# of seeds * Germ rate %)/ Price

  36. Ronnie Brace on October 23, 2021 at 10:46 am

    Love your shop!

  37. Tammy Nevil on October 23, 2021 at 10:49 am

You help all the time, I tried the take the seeds from the plant from the store and plant them

  38. Elias Tsaltas on October 23, 2021 at 10:50 am

Dollar store they have Mckenzie for 1 dollar.

  39. Ann Harlan on October 23, 2021 at 10:51 am

My big peeve is that some seeds are sold by number of seeds, grams or another measurement. I cannot compare them that way. I tend to buy from a non-profit when that happens. I’ve bought from MI Gardener and am very happy.

  40. julie makay on October 23, 2021 at 10:52 am

hello i am a new commercial farmer and id like to order seeds. is there an email or some kind of social media i can contact you on.. do you ship to South Africa

  41. Fezdani on October 23, 2021 at 10:53 am

I just found your seed shop now, mention it in one of your more recent videos! Here in Canada, boy do we get ripped off on seeds. It’s not uncommon for seed packets to go for $3.99 and up for 10, 25 seeds sometimes. Even with the currency exchange I’m going to save a bundle. Woe is me that I found it just as we’re going into Winter!

  42. therealz 360z on October 23, 2021 at 10:54 am

Buy more than you need! Most of the smaller companies that don’t promote the y.t ers are cheaper.

  43. smart sales on October 23, 2021 at 10:54 am

Kush_fisher2020 on snap , I ordered from them twice and they are perfect . Be very careful
Of so many scams. Lol was shocked when it was delivered to me haha and when I opened the package even the dogs wouldn’t have scent anything 😂

  44. Lisa Klassen on October 23, 2021 at 10:57 am

It’s 2020, urgency is a legit concern this year! I’ve never experienced hardware stores running out of seeds or basics like manure. I’ve bought for 2021 already.

  45. DoubleDRAGAN on October 23, 2021 at 10:58 am

Omg, this dude waffles on tooo much .

  46. SusieQ on October 23, 2021 at 11:00 am

    great ifno thanks

  47. Mark Ratte on October 23, 2021 at 11:00 am

Whenever possible I buy seeds from your website. GREAT pricing and germination.

  48. Jason Burnham on October 23, 2021 at 11:01 am

Don’t buy Pipalo or Pipicha seeds though. Those require special protective shipping and the envelope shipping will render most seeds damaged an unviable. Confirm that the seeds will be packaged in a box that won’t damage the umbrella top.

  49. Wes on October 23, 2021 at 11:02 am

    This is a bit ironic…

  50. Rickesh Patel on October 23, 2021 at 11:03 am

I got non gmo seeds from the dollar general, American seed looks ok about to find out if they are good.

25c per packet, less seeds which is great for my backyard garden. 😊
