Was excited to watch thus until the b*** Herbal Essences logo wouldn’t go away … and then they were promoting this shampoo as well …. seriously ? It’s a NO from me! Very disappointing. How much did they pay you for this?

going back to the roots I guess. I heard, as discussed in the video, in ayurvedic science, they do consider when the plant is harvested, what season what time and nutrients n chemicals different heaps.

To compare the plant collection at Kew to a truly diverse natural ecosystem is ridiculous.

I’m VERY disappointed that National Geographic has gotten into bed with the advertised consumer product. More like an infomercial than science and education. Poo poo on you NG!!

A seed bank is a nice idea. Yet this is no substitute for preserving functional ecosystems. Plants and animals, from the microscopic to the larger herbivores, are all part of the same ecosystems- and they need each other to thrive.

  22. Masca Trails on March 19, 2022 at 5:42 pm

I didn’t realize national geographic made infomercials

  23. R Hebb on March 19, 2022 at 5:45 pm

Got sick of the herbal essences infomercial. This is a bad marketing concept and has eroded what trust I had in what was supposed to be a scientific organization.

  24. Paul Varn on March 19, 2022 at 5:45 pm

Video otherwise known as an infomercial.

One may truly wonder how it is that Nature’s gifts so freely offering her this prosperous bounty and support is ever considered to be for sale at any other ones’ price in this village.

    Allah the most merciful. Says

    (7) Did they not look at the earth – how much We have produced therein from every noble kind? (8) Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
    (9) And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

    Allah the most merciful. Says

    60. Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)!
    61. Is not He (better than your gods) Who has made the earth as a fixed abode, and has placed rivers in its midst, and has placed firm mountains therein, and has set a barrier between the two seas (of salt and sweet water)? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Nay, but most of them know not!

    Allah the most merciful. Says

    (10) He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind. (11) This is the creation of Allāh. So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error.

    Allah the most merciful. Says

    (33) And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat.
    (34) And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs
    (35) That they may eat of His fruit.[1266] And their hands have not produced it,[1267] so will they not be grateful?

    Allah the most merciful. Says

    (95) Indeed, Allāh is the cleaver of grain and date seeds.[329] He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living. That is Allāh; so how are you deluded?

    Allah the most merciful. Says

    (141) And He it is who causes gardens to grow, [both] trellised and untrellised, and palm trees and crops of different [kinds of] food and olives and pomegranates, similar and dissimilar. Eat of [each of] its fruit when it yields and give its due [zakāh] on the day of its harvest. And be not excessive.[355] Indeed, He does not like those who commit excess.

    Allah the most merciful. Says

    19. And the earth We have spread out, and have placed therein firm mountains, and caused to grow therein all kinds of things in due proportion.
    20. And We have provided therein means of living, for you and for those whom you provide not [moving (living) creatures, cattle, beasts, and other animals]. 21. And there is not a thing, but with Us are the stores thereof. And We send it not down except in a known measure.
    (Quran)

"Trees provide us everything they need."

I’ll just let that sit here. You can decide for yourself what kind of video this is going to be.

  38. Kri MD on March 19, 2022 at 6:06 pm

I have misophonia and I’m struggling with this narrator , the way he enunciates/ talks … he puts emphasis on words like he’s dragging them out whike gritting his teeth while trying to talk like some American wannabe block buster film intro announcer- in a worlddddd where …. Only he’s saying words like sprawling as ssssshhhhhhpppprawlinggg and spit sounds like it’s flying and he’s doing that with every word .. I can’t. I CANT …. I love plants , I love what people have to say – I love this networks many documentaries over decades , no offense , please understand … I just REALLY wish they’d get better narrators and this isn’t the only one I have issues where I can’t even listen beyond 2 minutes … I feel bad , I really do but I just can’t handle it.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say the herbal essence lady has very dry and brittle looking hair. I make my own shampoo and soap and those two things are super easy. Wash my hair no more than once a week and my hair is great! Just say no to nature’s knock offs!
