I love how you keep it real. You show what worked and try to share what didn’t work. Keep up the good work!

  5. Lana Duvall on September 8, 2021 at 12:55 am

I will be doing this next year. All my raised beds are planted and full in south Louisiana zone 9a.

  6. Christine Harding on September 8, 2021 at 12:55 am

If you can get a copy of The Art of the Kitchen Garden by Jan and Michael Gertley, you will love seeing all the designs they have created. Not unlike what you are doing. I actually find your approach far more realistic, but theirs are fun to dream about.

    Nice job, Erin👩‍🌾👍
    I’m into orderly, too.
    I love watching your videos.

Same weather in Michigan! I’ve been dreaming about a cut flower garden for several years and I finally got over 900 seeds planted this week. I feel SO behind! On another note, I have my own line of bath and body products and am going to send you some goodies for your hands!

  9. Roberts on September 8, 2021 at 12:58 am

IM interested in your fence. Do you get deer? It doesn’t seem high enough for deer, so I am wondering what you are keeping out.

  10. Teresa Robinson on September 8, 2021 at 12:58 am

Totally love your ideas. Thank you for sharing this. Wonderful and beautiful!

  11. Victoria Michalik on September 8, 2021 at 1:00 am

The ups and downs of the temps is challenging….here is in Oklahoma, we had a cool and rainy spring… and it was amazing. We are now having higher temps and high humidity… Plants do seems very happy, but me, the gardener haven’t adjusted and have been only gardening in the very early hours before it gets too hot. So much to do, but I have to be happy with 2 or so hours a day.

  12. Kera on September 8, 2021 at 1:00 am

    Stunning raised bed

  13. Michele Parisio on September 8, 2021 at 1:03 am

Hi, can’t wait to see the results.

    Love this!

  16. Destiny Dunrud on September 8, 2021 at 1:05 am

That is funny because I am in 8b and our rosemary is an absolute beast!

  17. seame61 on September 8, 2021 at 1:06 am

    Erin,
I feel your pain. I never used gloves before but this year I’m nursing one infection after another on my fingers. Rose thorns are imbedded in my finger and I just can’t seem to get them out. It’s gloves for me until I forget the misery of these.

  18. Sweet Stuff on September 8, 2021 at 1:06 am

I love how your lettuce/kale box looks! So pretty with all the different colors and the round shape.

  19. Pleasant Prickles on September 8, 2021 at 1:08 am

I love the idea of creating a design! It looks like an English garden, which is my favorite aesthetic. 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌸😃

  20. Mary Glidden on September 8, 2021 at 1:09 am

Heat wave hear in CO too! Love the pattern style planting and hopefully will remember this next year to put a little more pizazz in my garden!

  21. Charlotte Snyder on September 8, 2021 at 1:12 am

Wacky weather! We have had 6 inches of rain in the past week at our house in Baltimore. Parsley:
I always plant some for me and some for the swallowtails, who are also eating my carrots this year.

  22. Sue Ann Pittman on September 8, 2021 at 1:15 am

Love this idea! Can’t wait to see it filled in. Where did you get the cucumber trellis?

  23. sandra house on September 8, 2021 at 1:15 am

Where did you get your tumeric? I tried some from the store but didn’t work.

  24. Becky Warren on September 8, 2021 at 1:18 am

That’s fun to make designs in the beds. It’s like yard art! Love your ideas.

  25. Assompta Albertini on September 8, 2021 at 1:18 am

Love the shapes you have used. May even use it on a big pot w/Herbs.

  26. Cathy Branly on September 8, 2021 at 1:18 am

I want a red currant bush! I called the Virginia department of agriculture and was told red currants are okay but no one will ship to my state. Very nice creating patterns in the beds.

  27. Tarredndfthered on September 8, 2021 at 1:20 am

I always start planting with a plan in mind but as usual my garden is now a hot mess

  28. Carrie Craiger on September 8, 2021 at 1:21 am

Love this! I am struggling to keep my seedlings.. bigger than they should be in their little starter containers Lol. I am here in Michigan and it’s been so hot! The heat and my injuries have me double struggling. One area to plant can take me up to a week to accomplish do to my current physical disability and it’s so frustrating. I am working on so many areas.

  29. Susan Horn on September 8, 2021 at 1:22 am

What are the dimensions of your beds, Erin? I LOVE your design! 🌿

  30. Amy Deeds on September 8, 2021 at 1:23 am

Love the design-so pretty and different than boring rows. I can’t keep basil alive for some reason. Do you let it dry out or keep it moist? Great video ☺️

  31. Dee21 on September 8, 2021 at 1:23 am

Yes, enjoyed! It sounds like you also work outside your home…not sure how you can do all that!.. Love the designs and yes I would have some OCD making the patterns, but would thoroughly enjoy…can’t wait to updates on herb bed!

  32. Dawn Maslonka on September 8, 2021 at 1:24 am

I just love all your garden tools….I think they are absolutely beautiful. Your vampire dibber and the tool at 4:31. Also love how your tree fence is coming along!

  33. Deborah Ryan on September 8, 2021 at 1:25 am

    Really pretty raised beds.

  34. Linda Woody on September 8, 2021 at 1:25 am

It is crazy here at 3,500′ elevation Zone 8B in the upper Mohave in AZ. Yes, it does get hot but usually it is 95-102 degrees F. Today it is 106 and in the next 4 days it will be 107-111 or 112 during the days and 78 degrees + at night. Yikes! My poor container grown home veggie garden. This is my first season doing desert gardening. Last year I was in FL and before that TN and coastal CA.

  35. Lifestyle Sharing on September 8, 2021 at 1:25 am

Wonderful sharing dear, I will grow more in my garden too!

  36. Amy Cavin on September 8, 2021 at 1:25 am

Tumeric too?? Wow love the design and variety!

  37. Green Thumbelina on September 8, 2021 at 1:27 am

Erin, you’re absolutely right about this being a crazy weather pattern year. Everyone I’ve talked to says the same thing about their weather being totally bonkers. Oh well, I guess weather extremes come with the gardening and farming territory! I’ve always, for the most part, planted things in rows, but since I’m not done planting yet… who knows what might happen. I may change it up a bit! I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend! ~Margie

  38. Ria Wallace on September 8, 2021 at 1:28 am

I love your hand shovel. Where did you find it at?

  39. bluesky7226 on September 8, 2021 at 1:32 am

Same thing happened in the Denver metro area. Cold and wet then furnace heat! Not fun!

  40. leslie lomot on September 8, 2021 at 1:33 am

love the idea! cannot wait to see them all grown. i guess i always worry they will be too close together… maybe i shouldn’t worry so much! emerald tower is my favorite too!

  41. Sweet Stuff on September 8, 2021 at 1:34 am

Talk about crazy weather, here in central Michigan we’ve had a super dry spring and yesterday got 3 1/2" of rain in less than a couple hours! Insta-spring!!! 😀

  42. Creatively, Candace Flower & Vegetable Gardening on September 8, 2021 at 1:34 am

I’m experimenting with a lot more herbs this year. Can’t wait to start trying different food & drink recipes with them.

  43. Kathryn Savela on September 8, 2021 at 1:35 am

    Love this idea!

  44. Marian Hintz on September 8, 2021 at 1:37 am

    Looks great!!

  45. Julie J. on September 8, 2021 at 1:38 am

Please extend Grace to Erin while she works out the audio issues. We still love the videos and content!!!
I need more basil and now need to find emerald leaf🌱

  46. Micalena Riche on September 8, 2021 at 1:40 am

Crazy weather all over for sure. Here in Utah very hot, extremely dry, high winds, drought and forest fires. We definitely did not live up to "Ski Utah" this Winter.😭

  47. Lee Corrigan on September 8, 2021 at 1:42 am

Last week we had a 30 Celsius day followed by a day where we had snow and subzero temps. It’s wild

  48. grapefruitiswinning on September 8, 2021 at 1:44 am

I hear you on damaged hands from gardening Erin! Last night I came in from a power gardening session and noticed my hands are a war zone: cuticles shredded and bleeding; hangnails for days; skin dry and rough and sun fried; dirt crammed so far under my nails I still can’t figure out how to get it out without seriously hurting myself; multiple scratches and cuts; and the tips of several fingers are raw and shredded. So of course I’ll wear gloves for today’s late spring beautiful Seattle Saturday power gardening session right? 🤣😜🤷🏻‍♂️

  49. Artist In a Garden on September 8, 2021 at 1:45 am

So creative! I love the diamond design! I am trying a "rainbow" shape in the garden with my lettuce, lol. Can’t wait to see all the basil fill in! It will smell amazing!!!

  50. Dusty Acres on September 8, 2021 at 1:46 am

your Espalier design behind you looks fantastic. Yes it has been a trying year for gardening. Have you done an update on this project? I also designed my garden differently this year. Just because of crop rotations. Having fun with it is the key
