No , keep that beautiful lilac, my favorite. Love your garden, beyond beautiful.

  2. S on May 21, 2022 at 8:02 pm

At 34:00 plant cleome all around the structure inside the box woods, it would look amazing

  3. Midwest Gardner on May 21, 2022 at 8:02 pm

Love your bench idea, you must have a endless budget

  4. S on May 21, 2022 at 8:03 pm

girl, you must be in the garden 24/7 in the growing season

  5. Jolene Horaska on May 21, 2022 at 8:06 pm

The airport should have massive boxes!

  6. Becky Banta on May 21, 2022 at 8:06 pm

Thank you for taking us along & thru your gardens. Lovely, showing all your & Aaron’s hard work & TLC. TU for update on the poppy seeds planted at your folks & yours. I’ve been wondering. Nothing happened here either. (Zone 4b-5a). Also wondering, do you take time to play on your beautiful piano? Hope so!🎶🎵🎶

Your cat surely enjoys your company. He follows you everywhere in the garden.

  8. Emma Deveto on May 21, 2022 at 8:09 pm

Is that mulch around the plants? Or what it is

  9. Indie on May 21, 2022 at 8:10 pm

The kitten is the major addition!

  10. Judi Christophersen on May 21, 2022 at 8:10 pm

Wow you must be a millionaire this all costs alot

  11. Heather Stewart on May 21, 2022 at 8:10 pm

I love these garden tours. It’s nice seeing how well (or not) everything is progressing. It’s so funny when bloopers are left in now and then 🤣. Gives me a good chuckle.

  12. t c on May 21, 2022 at 8:11 pm

so i actually tried the poppy experiment. went out in the snow this past winter and threw seeds on top of the snow. i cannot believe it. . . . they took!! we’ll see if they survive and actually become full fledged poppies. cannot wait to see them grow!

  13. Macey Hrechkosy on May 21, 2022 at 8:11 pm

The hostas in the back garden will tie in the formality you are creating around the Hartley.

  14. Nancy Maslanka on May 21, 2022 at 8:11 pm

    At 55:40
Birch are pretty short lived in my experience. Sad here as mine is dying in portions as well

  15. Alyson Lawing on May 21, 2022 at 8:14 pm

Hi Laura! 🤗 Would the chainlink cage/cover tucked in the corner help keep your kitties off your lettuce? (If you havent thought of that already) They are so cute though! ☺️ Everything is so beautiful! (Even the empty urns.. *cough..😉)

  16. Jamie Rucker on May 21, 2022 at 8:16 pm

Really cold really long spring LOL we WISH.

    You guys rock!

  18. Magillsgiggles on May 21, 2022 at 8:19 pm

    Walpole Woodworking for benches

  21. Bond DeBolt Drager on May 21, 2022 at 8:24 pm

What was the plant at 38:38? The “giant snowdrops” under the hydrangea… I can’t tell what you called them. They’d be lovely in a moon garden!

  22. Fathan Family on May 21, 2022 at 8:25 pm

    Beautiful!

  25. Donna Burbank on May 21, 2022 at 8:26 pm

Laura I know you’ve probably asked, but….have you asked the tree movers about the possibility of moving the box woods??? If anyone can do it you would think he could…..

  26. Kenia Kennedy on May 21, 2022 at 8:27 pm

    Spectacular!

  27. Romie Hutson on May 21, 2022 at 8:29 pm

    I love histas

  28. Cheri Stokes on May 21, 2022 at 8:30 pm

    RE: Cardboard
You need to make friends with a trucker. 😉
I’m constantly throwing away SLIP SHEETS (extremely large pieces of cardboard) that shippers place under loads as an alternative to pallets. The grocery warehouses (where I predominantly go) don’t need them, can’t reuse them and most don’t recycle them. They just leave them in the trailers for the drivers to dispose of. I’ve brought home way more than my fair share for the yard or the garden. Alternatively I guess you could just make friends with someone at a warehouse… 🤣

  29. My serious Voice on May 21, 2022 at 8:31 pm

I see all the work and I don’t have as much garden envy as this deserves…but I admit to greenhouse envy without reservation. Also I live in a rainy climate and My hostas don’t look as nice as yours as they are in a never ending battle with slugs

  30. Romie Hutson on May 21, 2022 at 8:33 pm

Your face looks so small next to that last hosta. The leaves are amazingly large almost prehistoric looking

  31. kr.karolina on May 21, 2022 at 8:33 pm

Everything looks incredible 😍 I love how you mix structured plants and free flowing plants:)
Question: How do you narrow down to the look you wish to achieve? Please give tips on finding "your own" garden style 🙂
We just built our house and we have a blank slate for the garden. I like straight minimalistic paths, but wavy natural plant borders, and the two together just look too much. Also can’t decide on weather to keep a mild slope or go all flat…. Im so lost on what to do 😥🤔 all tips are welcomed

  32. Salvatore Scamacca on May 21, 2022 at 8:35 pm

In regard to the formal circle of boxwood hedges in the back: what if you opened the sides of the circle to walk through? It would open the space a little, save the hedge, and kind of create an allée connecting the three urns!

  33. Patti Tahan on May 21, 2022 at 8:36 pm

What is the history of your property? Was it farmland, prarie or forest? How long ago?

  34. sarah g on May 21, 2022 at 8:37 pm

You should get church pew benches for in front of the Hartley

  35. Helen Alexander on May 21, 2022 at 8:38 pm

Oh lovely garden tour xxx Laura giving a shout out to those being respectful to their property. It’s lovely to hear of such people but I suspect that it’s because Laura and Aaron show such respect to others it’s radiated right back at them and deservedly so. Laura I agree keep the boxwood it’s beautiful xxxLooking forward to part 2. Have a fabulous day everyone xxxxx

  36. Carrie A on May 21, 2022 at 8:38 pm

Frost damage at the top of your tree! Happened to my Japanese Maple this year.

  37. Kelly Morrison on May 21, 2022 at 8:41 pm

There’s a lot of trees in the Tulsa area that the tops died after that really hard cold snap. They look SO weird.

  38. Kenny Adams on May 21, 2022 at 8:43 pm

Kingsley and Bates for high quality benches to compliment Hartley. We have had outdoor bar table with chairs and an 7 foot garden bench that are over 12 years old and are still going strong!

  39. Christina Annabel on May 21, 2022 at 8:45 pm

It can be exciting to create new planting areas, but eventually, if there are many gardens, shrubs, hedges, lawns, walkways and so forth, the totality can become unmanageable….. unless, of course, you have a crew to help you. I very much enjoy Laura’s projects and her videos and wish her all the best. For me, early this summer I’m installing my last two beds (fruit and dahlia); otherwise, gardening will consume all my free time (and possibly hurt my marriage).

  40. IP FREELY on May 21, 2022 at 8:47 pm

Love your energy and enthusiasm. Your true love for plants are contagious. And the place looks great.

  41. M Hernandez on May 21, 2022 at 8:48 pm

    What new property?

  42. Katherine Bopp on May 21, 2022 at 8:49 pm

I do not wish to be a Debbie Downer, But goodness how do you water this massive amount of plants. Even with timers and so forth, it still looks like a big job.. Everything is so beautiful and good job remembering all (almost) of the names.

  46. ameliathompson47 on May 21, 2022 at 8:51 pm

Laura! You’re so sweet and it’s fun to see how excited you get about your garden. I feel like we could be friends! Just throwing this out there but a cottage garden would be charming in front of the cut flower shed 💚🌸🌼🌷💚

  47. Janet N on May 21, 2022 at 8:52 pm

Oh my goodness. So happy you showed the Sugar Shack Buttonbush! I planted one last year and it hadnt come back either. But a scratch on the bark still shows green and I just noticed a little green yesterday like its trying to leaf out.. I think they are just late bloomers..

  48. Jiakai Li on May 21, 2022 at 8:54 pm

The top branchs are dead because they are new grow branches which wss so weak to pass through the cold winter。
