John Lewis Shop-Up | Trinny
Join Trinny as she ventures away from Zara and into Peter Jones (part of the John Lewis chain) for her latest SHOP UP. For a department store that has an entire floor dedicated to women’s fashion, there’s bound to be plethora of items to love.. or will it prove to be a store where you buy classic pieces for your mother…?

Great personality
I love Peter Jones. I spent my youth trawling the Kings Road and this takes me back to those days.
This shop reminds me of Macyโs in the US. I still buy from then occasionally because the carry a few brands I like, such as Ralph Lauren, and some harder-to-find items like genuine leather belts and bags that I can actually afford. They lost their fashion edge in, I would say, the late 80s or 90s. I think the cause was the proliferation of their house-brands at the expense of designer brands, which are greatly inferior in design, fit, construction and fabric. They are now generally a low-end store, sad.
Those clothes are so sleepy ๐ด
Amazing outfit ๐
I love that part of London. I found great bargains in the thrift shops. Trinny please do a thrift shop haul.
"that’s a loud print…" , wears a frog queen coat ๐
I love your geometric coat. What is the brand?
Trinny, I find some of brands at John Lewis are too classical and not in a good way. Of course there are several like Whistles, Kin and And/Or that are more contemporary. I will be fifty in a couple of years and I find I want better cuts and quality for my money!
It is great to see you somewhere else apart from Zara, but I like independent shopping if possible and bigger sizes options. Thanks!
What kind of material?
55y?? You look fantastic. Thank you for your videos. You so funny.
Love your jacket. Where is it from?
Another great video BUT where was the "try on" ๐ I SO wanted to see you try on that suit and coat ๐
Do you mean Anokhi? Thatโs the closest name I could find online for Indian hand-printed caftans, like the one you showed a few years ago (Lake Como trip?). I bought a lightweight cotton short dressing gown/robe from Anokhi and itโs a treasure. But, Iโm still not sure if itโs the same brand because of the different vowel sound, although I did try many different spelling variations when I searched.
Hush is my absolute favourite shop!! Most of my clothes are from there – I love it!!
Loud is that coat you wear oh so often
Love Peter Jones….very classy store.
Iโm in love with your coat! Iโm 53 …love your look. ๐ค
Glad that she has pointed out that some of this overpriced stuff is not that special. I agree and in some stores, such as T Baker I look at the label to see what fabric they are using when I see the price tag………………… often really surprised when it’s viscose or even poly, not sure it justifies the high prices to be honest, though I know the mark up on clothing is steep.
My mum has that red jacket ๐
You look gorgeous in the peacock color ๐
Seen Trinny in the same jacket in pink as well – where are these gorgeous jackets from ???
Trinny could u please tell me which wrist watch are u wearing? Is it fit it or any other. Please do mention model number
Taken aback by the prices. One top was ยฃ120 – which is about $165. Thatโs a lot for something of mediocre quality in an awkward color & print that you might not get that much wear out of.
Also – the store looks old…just sort of a sea of fixtures with so-so visual cues and blah mannequins. It could be a Sears here in the states.
These videos are so helpful Trinny!

200 pounds is about $273 US dollars or $350 Canadian.
It’s too much for what you are getting/for sure. Nothing special.
I love
your enthusiasm and flow through the racks
Pardoners me, but do you have a limp as I do?

Dear Trinny, thank you for showing me, how to shop. I always bought a lot of clothes and had a lot of disasters. Now I am shopping at Zara and H&M. You are showing what to wear and how to wear it. I appreciate it soooo much what you are doing for us (mature) women. Anna
Sometimes I wonder if you have body dysmorphia – I’ve seen your arms in your "Get Ready With Me – Morning Routine" and your arms are FAB! Always layering up when you can wear a sleeveless top/dress, sleek fitted trousers and an Audrey Hepburn ballet flat and look amazing!
I Literally agreed with everything you said! Great breakdown of all the pieces you whisked through. I love seeing what high street fashion means-Iโm American. The prices were pretty steep. Iโd have to figure out how to put together a look high end wardrobe from Target.๐ It can be done!! But really love watching everything you picked and how youโd style it. Totally agree on how much of it could be duped through Zaraโs clothes.
Most of what you picked up looked quite shapeless to me, like wearing a tent. I like the way, though you say about what body types, eg., short waisted or short legs might look good with each garment.
I really like your style Zara is affordable
Lol! I can t stop laughing.
Omg love the blue trouser!
Prices seem to be very expensive there. I guess I’m use to sales every week in California.
The leopard one is what I would call an anorak not a trench.

Nice bag
Love โค๏ธ the outfit
Love love love your outfit Trinny
Loved this video, Trinny. Please keep showing us shops on the High Street. I’m 51 and like classics with a twist. I regularly look in my local John Lewis for clothes but struggle to find much that I like, although I do think the Kin clothes work well for me x
