  3. Another Cheryl Adventure on January 23, 2022 at 6:33 pm

None of yours require refrigeration. So wood u put all that in the underground seller that had the canned preserves? Did u clean that out? If u did that seems like the best place, if u could give me a response? That would be Awsome❤️💕💕💕💕💕💕👍❤️💕❤️💕💕💕

  5. Ray Crow on January 23, 2022 at 6:33 pm

Sweet potatoes are the best calorie crop. They are easy and can make 2/3s of your diet no problem. Folks who live over 100 usual have sweet potatoes in their die. Look into blue zones. You do have to cure them though.

  6. Jack Willoughby on January 23, 2022 at 6:33 pm

Why limit it to three? Corn and beans are compatible with squash( the Three Sisters), onions(leaks, shallots), purple cabbage/Brussel Sprouts and carrots are simply a must for proper nutrition if you want to re-mineralize and get rid of the heavy metals and toxic chemicals that build up in nearly everyone’s body. They can all be grown in a space just a little larger. I love tomatoes and potatoes too, but they are not absolutely necessary.

  7. James Abel on January 23, 2022 at 6:37 pm

    Make liquor with potatos

  8. Dee C on January 23, 2022 at 6:37 pm

    1. Tomatoes
    2. Potatoes
    3. Onions
I can make so many things for my family with those 3 ingredients. They are easy to store , can or freeze for future use. Those are our favorites and what I know I can grow . If I could choose one more it would be Peppers, specifically bell peppers. We love them.

Beans/green beans — For nitrogen fixing in the soil and protein and vitamins. Growing beans can give you both green beans and regular beans.
Potatoes — For a staple starch with a long history of being a long term food. It also acts as a subsurface crop that is not obvious to marauders.
Sunflowers — Haven’t you seen the series "Alone"? You want FAT. Veggies are usually nutrient dense but calorie poor. Sunflowers offer a source of fat and nutrition (especially vitamin E).

  15. My Channel on January 23, 2022 at 6:45 pm

    Beans a nd q

  16. maritimer Man on January 23, 2022 at 6:46 pm

This is a how to survive video, I too was torn about the potato choice given the carbs, but I would make the same choice.

  17. Coin of Faith on January 23, 2022 at 6:48 pm

Potatoes (for fries), Chicken and my third crop would be Beer.

  18. Shnarkle VonBarkle on January 23, 2022 at 6:48 pm

I’m growing tubers, e.g. cassava, wild winged yams, and sweet potatoes. Even if sweet potatoes don’t produce a tuber, they’re in the morning glory family and produce a beautiful flower. You can also eat the leaves in a salad; very hearty. Nopales cactus are also very filling and easy to grow. Moringa is easy to grow and it’s a super food to help supplement whatever is missing from one’s diet.

  19. onein inone on January 23, 2022 at 6:49 pm

    okra potatoes kale

  20. A M on January 23, 2022 at 6:51 pm

I’d grow oats (it’s a low Glycaemic Index food, suitable for diabetics), silverbeet (chard), easily grown in New Zealand, and butternut. I have chickens too which provide cackle berries.

  21. jordanrichards320 on January 23, 2022 at 6:51 pm

Potatoes became more popular in Europe after a man publicized that he survived on nothing but potatoes for about 3 years.
    Sounds like a good one.

  22. Taters Domergue on January 23, 2022 at 6:51 pm

You need a fat source like peanuts a d sunflower. Without fat you’re gonna be suckin hind tit. If.you don’t heat the seed oil then it won’t poison you like shelf stable sunflower oil

  23. TheGourmand on January 23, 2022 at 6:52 pm

I remember reading once that if there ever was an apocalyptic event, the two food sources that will give you all the necessary calories and nutrients to survive are potatoes and milk

  24. Ingrid’s Kitchen Garden on January 23, 2022 at 6:52 pm

    Beans,potatoes, cabbage.

  25. Producer Shawn on January 23, 2022 at 6:53 pm

  28. Rod Palmer on January 23, 2022 at 6:59 pm

Your choice of butternuts and potatoes will store for months to carry through the winter. Bean are just good!

  29. GodGoldGunsn'Golf on January 23, 2022 at 6:59 pm

  30. Shnarkle VonBarkle on January 23, 2022 at 7:00 pm

Anyone else see that roach run across the screen?

  31. jc l on January 23, 2022 at 7:02 pm

I think an underground vegetable with minimal leaves in case of a problems with the air or water supply. Don’t want huge leaves that trap pollutants

  32. Kafiyo on January 23, 2022 at 7:03 pm

I would swap out squash for tomatoes! Yummy, preservable, goes with everything and chockas with vitamins.

  33. Alexis M on January 23, 2022 at 7:05 pm

    🙏😊🌻🦋

  34. Cristal LaPrade on January 23, 2022 at 7:06 pm

They entire sunflower is edible. Seeds and leaves for eating. Pith can be dried pulverized and used as a flour substitute. Flower petals for tea. Outer stalk for kindling. So many uses!

  35. Cheyenne Darden on January 23, 2022 at 7:08 pm

You can make oil out of the sunflower seeds too. Love that

  36. Kendo 2 on January 23, 2022 at 7:09 pm

Potatoes, tomatoes, bush red beans. Potatoes will store for a year when done properly. Tomatoes can be dried in the sun with minimal effort. I can get two crops of red beans each year, and I cook the leaves like spinach. The beans can be eaten like green beans or dried for protein.

  37. Michael Feltis on January 23, 2022 at 7:11 pm

Okra here in the south grows fast, hard to keep it picked, can be dehydrated and canned. Beans, i fully agree and my third would be turnips, like potatoes they store well and you can harvest and eat the greens and keep the tuber in the ground. I’m thinking we need think and eat like our great grandparents did.

  38. arbedreka meadows01 on January 23, 2022 at 7:12 pm

    Potatoes…tomatoes…beans. Tomatoes (sauce…paste..salsa…soup…juice…ketcup…dried tomatoes…fried green…tomato sandwiches! )

  39. Jackie Eastom on January 23, 2022 at 7:14 pm

    Tomato,okra,squash

  40. Jonathan Jochem on January 23, 2022 at 7:14 pm

    Opium poppies

  41. Barb Glaw on January 23, 2022 at 7:15 pm

I would also pick beans, butternut squash and potatoes.

  42. Komafoxy 101 on January 23, 2022 at 7:15 pm

Thanks because I did a backyard deal and the small amounts of green beans I grew got me to never grow again. Now I know I just did it wrong

  43. Green Power Farm on January 23, 2022 at 7:16 pm

I’m with you on Potatoes. I can eat them all day everyday!

  44. Brendahere on January 23, 2022 at 7:18 pm

My pick would be beans, potatoes and tomatoes

  45. Matthew Lafferty on January 23, 2022 at 7:19 pm

Onions, garlic, and potatoes. Onions and garlic because of the health benefits. Potatoes because of the ease.

  46. Komafoxy 101 on January 23, 2022 at 7:19 pm

I have natural small onions that grow in my yard without me ever planting them

  47. Ricardo on January 23, 2022 at 7:21 pm

I would probably go along with it the butternut squash. I’ve grown acorn squash and you pretty much plant seeds and wait for the vines to die and pick them. But what about tomatoes?

  48. R M on January 23, 2022 at 7:21 pm

Sweet potatoes will give you delicious greens early on and tubers at maturity. 2 for 1 special

  49. EyesWideShut on January 23, 2022 at 7:29 pm

I learned to sprout and grow hydroponically so everything EASY. I thought it best I learn solar electronics to power artificial sunlight. Thank you for your contribution Sir, some people are thinking for themselves. Everything I buy has to serve TWO purposes, one being survival. I grow what I eat but most produce several harvest. Broccoli and sweet potato leaves are edible so I’d choose them. Things you can eat as a young plants and continually harvest.

  50. Douglas Gray on January 23, 2022 at 7:30 pm

Trader Joes has a new chili that is spiked with sunflower protein, so you can add to your beans. Also, butternut squash seeds are edible when roasted. I read an article in a magazine from 1949 about a guy who had some pasture land that was no good for cows, but could support goats. He tells a story about how within a few years, he had more goat milk than he new what to do with, as the goats kept breeding. In Proverbs 27:27 it says, "And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens."    For tree crops, a productive pecan tree can provide a huge amount of nuts, and they last a long time in the shells.
