Fantastic! I need more herbs to plant in my garden.

  9. Clarice Tan on July 27, 2021 at 8:00 pm

Do u just pinch off most parts of the rotting stems or dig the plant out to remove stem completely? Cos my basil and coriander cuttings are still attracting flies. And those flies are attracting spiders. 😂 waiting for my neem oil to arrive. I guess that would work right? 🤔

    https://balconygardenweb.com/why-you-should-not-add-gravels-to-pots/
I heard recently about not using rocks in the bottom of pots and decided to finally do a little research. This article cites multiple sources. Gardening, especially in containers, has its challenges here in the PNW – watering being the worst for me. Thanks for all your help!

  19. Velvel Kaminshtein on July 27, 2021 at 8:20 pm

Looks awesome. Few questions. Is one seedling per kind will grow big bush, or should I put a few of them together? Should I use compost or the soil is enough? I’m growing outside in my garden

  24. hughezy21 on July 27, 2021 at 8:24 pm

Great video. Im going to do this in some wall mounted outdoor planter boxes. Should my boxes of herbs have drainage holes in them?

  27. FattiApples on July 27, 2021 at 8:31 pm

Will these eventually take over that container? Will you have to take out cut them back and refresh the soil each year?

  28. Maria Habib on July 27, 2021 at 8:34 pm

What type of rosemary are you growing? I’ve tried growing it 3 times, twice in my planters and once in the ground and it dies in January every single time.

  29. Terry Hall on July 27, 2021 at 8:34 pm

I enjoyed your video. Would Thai basil be planted with the parsley group or the woody group?

I have heard don’t touch the roots, loosen up the roots, cut the roots and now split the roots. Which is correct?

Nice overview of starting a culinary herb garden, Misilla. I really should have had this information before adding mints to our garden. LOL The struggle to get rid of it is a yearly ritual now.
    Take care,
    Rob

  37. Ruth Salinas on July 27, 2021 at 8:39 pm

Thanks for this video. I am VERY NEW to gardening and would like to start with herbs. I still have a few questions after watching your video though. I see you planted parsley, basil, and mint in individual pots instead of in the bed with other herbs. I know you said that with mint it’ll take over so is it the same with basil and parsley? Is that why you planted them in individual containers? How about cilantro? I would really like to know which herbs are ok to grow together in my wood bed since I don’t have a lot of room for separate containers.

Also, what’s under the soil in your bed? I recently got gifted a handmade wood bed and I’m not sure how to set it up 🙈 How does the water drain from the soil? I know these are probably silly questions but like I said I am VERY NEW to gardening.

And lastly can I add anything else to my bed that isn’t herbs? Like small tomatoes or chilis? Can I add chives with other herbs into the bed?
