How to grow vegetables in raised bed gardens

TV Presenter and Gardening Expert, Katie Rushworth shows you how to plant a raised bed vegetable garden.

Using a simple wooden frame filled with compost, Katie plants a variety of vegetables and herbs including Beetroot, Onions, Lettuce, Strawberries, Chives, Rosemary, Basil, Sage and Thyme.

These raised planting beds are great for gardening in small spaces.

    With respect
    1. Better off with 50/50 topsoil and compost. Plants dont have enough micro nutrients in compost alone.
    2. The bagged compost will shrink down alarmingly. So MUST FILL these beds to the very top and over….. to allow shrinkage back to the top.
    3.
    WAY WAY to many plants in the bed…plants do grow and your not allowing room for growth..

    Hello, just wondering if you are concerned about planting them too close together…for example the rosemary plant can get huge and crowd out the others…are you planning to transplant these later into a bigger bed?

    lovely , but put a layer of cardboard down before you fill the bed , it will supress the weeds below and worms love wet cardboard

    Soap is what you eat grate soap and sprinkle it around your garden slugs hate it they won’t go near your crop . Also 1 teaspoon dry yeast in water 1cliter mix spray on your crop keep bugs away
