I have just started off four different basil cultivars last week (Petra Red, Greek Basil, Lime basil, and Sweet basil) I have kept them in the dark and put them above the fridge so they can be warm from the convection heat generated from the back of the fridge. I also have  sown a batch of parsley and also "green soup" Celery. I am growing them in "root pouches" which are supposed to do air pruning of the roots. So I will be keeping an eye on how your plants are doing and comparing them to mine.

Another great video :-). The corks for labeling your herbs is a great idea . They look amazing too. I picked up two aerogarden’s on Craigslist for $20 a few months ago. They are doing amazing on my kitchen countertop :-). I love having fresh herbs growing inside :-). Now we are having an experiment with dirt & a grow light vs hydroponics. By the way my garlic shoots are doing amazing :-). Thank you so much for the great videos on planting garlic :-). You got me motivated to try :-). Thanks again for the seeds. They look amazing. My daughter refers to them as the magical bean stalk seeds :-).

Hi, what kind of soil do you use? I brought home a basil plant from the supermarket and it died on me after a couple of weeks. I want to try again growing my own but not sure what soil to use since there is so many varieties, thanks.

    Hi Misilla,
I saw you video. It was very informative. I has a doubt here. As you said that after adding the seeds and covering them it has to be kept under a lamp for heat right. So has this to be continuous process or it has to be in intervals. Because light shoule be on right. So for how long has it to be kept so. Can you please clarify this doubt of mine and help me in explaning so that i can do the same.
    Thanks,
    Sia

Misilla, you are so creative. I love the cork idea. I always throw away the plastic ones but now I know what to do with it!

  23. lina bou on April 26, 2022 at 7:14 pm

Cilantro doesn’t like warmer areas you shouldn’t cover it, they like the more cooler environment that’s why you can grow them in the winter if you wanted, just letting you know 🙂

This was a great yet simple tutorial Misilla, also really luved that idea of cork labels! Always great to hear the American pronunciation of herbs as opposed to way we pronounce them here in the UK lol 🙂 Have a blessed week ahead ~Peace~

Hello! I was wondering how many seeds you should put when growing cilantro? I have been growing some but it looks long and lanky and they dont stand up on its own. Should I put more seeds?
