I shared this little plant experiment on my Instagram and decided to film the process for YouTube as well, so I hope you enjoy! I’ve dappled a bit in plant propagation and growing hydroponic plants, but this was the first time I tried it with herbs. This was just an experiment and I’m still really new to it all, so if you have any tips, please let me know! xx Audrie

You may try liquid seaweed Fertilizer in proportions with water . It essentially will suffice for their nutrient requirements and eventually you’ll have really healthy plants.

Where did you get that watering can?!?

  7. Dimche Andovski on August 15, 2021 at 11:59 pm

    u can try adding
    1. 1tsp yeast(i used dry),1tsp shugar,1l of watter shake it well,u can use it immediately or after 24h!
2.soak banana peels,or onion peels in watter for 24h
3.rice watter pasta watter is also good
personally sometimes i mix these mixtures with watter 75%watter 25% of the fertilizer u chose from the top and just watter ur plants or add a little bit in ur jar watter as this…its a natural homemade fertilizer. Also this is what worked for me,test it with small amount first so u can see the reaction of ur own "plant" and continue if the results are good.Ive tried the yeast fertilizer for parsley and flowers and it worked flawlessly,i didn’t mixed it with water, just the fertilizer it self.If u wanna be safe and u dont wanna risk try mixing with water.Hope this works .🙂

Can you please do a second part to this video i would like to see how much they grew to eat. Omg its so nice how you sow them looks so healthy im new to growing. My green oinion and chives basil parsley cilantro are growing but im not sure what i do after they have sprung up and there growing but my tops of thr stem has a little black seed right on the tip i was wondering what that is? I accidentally took 1 off to see what it was. Omg i do cover them at nuggt this ws my own idea i didnt know so thank you for mentioning it that came naturally to then i didnt know honesty thats great. My herbs are in plastic water bottles can leave them in their i have actualy made holes in the lid and put a cloth through it to the soil so i dont need to keep watering them do you think i should cut thr dry bit and re water the bottom. You mention dont wet then leave but i kind of sprinkle water on top with my hands so they dont dry out can thry get fungus this way. Can wipe the water off or leave it and just cover them for condensation. They look fresh they are still babies i think but its my very first time growing i look forwared every morning like a pet. Please Can You let me know if i should cut tips off were ita dry on thr green oinions and chives. And should change them into a pot or i dont need to. Im going to cut mine too and add them in just water in glass jar thats great idea. Mine are growing in thr palstic bottles but im worried if i change pot they wont stay straight as thr pot is wider if you have any tips and tou can tell me anythings please let me know. Thank you. Also i luvd ur glass jars such a lovely calming video please do more videos on plants when you seed them and then they grown and the stages which they grow and what to do when you see them grow. Thank you so much really appreciate this video Thank you

Any recommendation plants in air-conditioner room ? for hydroponic .

  16. Erykka Nunez on August 16, 2021 at 12:05 am

I would eventually paint the containers black to keep the light out, as it will grow algae. But just keeps close eye on em!

This is like cuttings from any plant. You should Google aquarium plants

Hey i just wanted to mention something. Rosemary and fennel take longer than most herbs, so its tottaly normal if they grow slower than hoped! Hope this helps!🍄🌱

I’ve read some debates about water propagation, for the reasons that; a plant can develop water roots or soil roots. Water roots are thinner and more fragile, and you might experience some difficulty if you choose to switch these babies to soil. If you acclimatize these plants to water for so long, it’s best to keep them as hydroponic. Soil roots are thicker, I assume because they hold more water? Someone correct me if I’m wrong on that.
Someone else mentioned in the comments to switch the bottles to amber or a darker glass. 100% you should do this. I’ve heard many times to never expose roots of any plant to sunlight.
Someone else also mentioned to change the water more often, also correct. The oxygen in the water will only last so long, and ultimately you wanna be supplying fresh water as often as you can. If using tap water or even rain water (the latter I recommend collecting whenever you get the chance, there is double the amount of oxygen in rain water, and you’ll notice a massive difference to your plants), but always leave the collected water (even tap water) aside in an open bucket for 24 hours so all the nasties can evaporate. Some will recommend to not use rain water if you live in a city, and although it’s not ideal water because of pollution, I haven’t had any adverse reactions to my plants (after the water has sat for 24 hours).

Thank you for the video! Was a lovely watch xx

  27. Tokyo est mon jardin on August 16, 2021 at 12:21 am

I would recommend to hide the light with something really opaque from the reservoir (especially if you decide to start using hydro nutes). This will prevent algae growing and the bottles to turn green and murky. I know it’s probably less beautiful than transparent glass – but on the middle term your plants will thank you!
PH balance is not really needed for weeds or leafy greens – except if your water is really basic (above 7).

Don’t forget to mentionPH test kits! Looks like your tap water is really good, but others may have higher PH water, when plants prefer it slightly lower

  43. M M on August 16, 2021 at 12:37 am

could you mix a little bit of soil into the water for nutrients?

  44. Prajakta Bavikar on August 16, 2021 at 12:42 am

How do you sterilise the sheers? Most of my gardening instruments have a lot of rust on them. Any tips for preventing that?

  45. zvczvcvzxcv on August 16, 2021 at 12:42 am

From experience with fish tanks, there is chloramine in water which can kill fish but is probably fine with plants. Filling the can up with water and letting it sit overnight will allow chloramine to evaporate. If you want to. I don’t really think it matters much.

  46. Jeanne Amato on August 16, 2021 at 12:43 am

You should save the used water from cuttings to water plants and not pour down drain. Otherwise they all look great.

  47. Saheli Das on August 16, 2021 at 12:45 am

you can use the water from boiled eggs… it is rich in sodium, potassium and magnesium.. good for your babies😉

  48. Tawni bonner on August 16, 2021 at 12:46 am

Get into fish keeping 😊 I use tank water for my plants, they love 💕

you do this for aesthetic but your herbs won’t have the nutrients the soil provides
