I’m doing this with a window on the side of my house! I’m just lagging behind this year lol. I love the wooden brackets? I guess that’s what you’d call them. They’re so pretty! Great video!

Love it! I need to try and do something like this under our window!

  12. Irmina Schöneborn on November 30, 2021 at 2:42 pm

Great Tutorial! You could line the inside of the box with a piece of pond liner in order to make them last longer. This prevents the wood from rotting. Just staple the liner to the wood on the inside of the Box. I did that in all my raised beds and they have lastet many years longer.

Had to watch again, just watched your 2021 recipe, I haven’t done any widow boxes, but I think this will be nice to put around the deck👍😀 (its not that big, about 10 x 10)

No I thought you would plant it up with us!!!!! I was really waiting for that, however, it looks so lovely, well done. I really like this, my wall is build from brick so putting up a window box is not so simple for me. I’m doing my research though, I really want to figure it out. Nice stain as well!

Shouldn’t you have doubled up the bottom of the box for extra security? You did say it may rot with constant use. Looking from Trinidad and Tobago.

  25. Maria Folch on November 30, 2021 at 3:18 pm

I wish you had shown how you attach the other window box to the bricks.

  26. Dee Stoddard on November 30, 2021 at 3:20 pm

AWESOME. AWESOME VIDEO!!! Thank you for the great details. I find that Window boxes on the market are too shallow and doesn’t give me the depth I’m after to get the results you guys have. I’m a new fan and love your channel!

Might be good to put glue between.

  31. Bubby C on November 30, 2021 at 3:24 pm

I like window boxes. It allows you to look through plants/flowers when looking outside.

At the three-min mark, you can see the wood grain. Notice that the grain is cupped the same direction. Flip the top board over. Then, each piece will keep the other from warping.

Securing to the house first was smart. Makes the job much easier.
