Oh thank Goodness you posted! I was going crazy looking for a planty video!
Also… does anyone else say the entire intro with her? Just me?

  2. AquaGardenZen on June 10, 2022 at 8:58 pm

Awesome and very informative video I wonder if shade Screen or a shading plant can be helpful behind certain plants thank you keep up the great videos

  3. Louisa on June 10, 2022 at 8:58 pm

Another tip for plant in Southern window is Hibiscus! Since I put mine there it is just living its best life, it feels like itยดs in the absolute perfect conditions there and it has such beautiful flowers! ๐ŸŒธ

Hey guys I have a plant question… I took a monstera cutting, but I cut above the node on the larger leaf. There is a smaller leaf attached to it (just starting to unfurl) that has a node/aerial root on it. Will it still grow or does there need to be a node on the larger leaf for the cutting to work? If anyone has experience with this please let me know ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Pttias on June 10, 2022 at 9:15 pm

Thank you for this video!! I currently only have South facing windows in my apartment (and I’m going to move to a new in a few weeks that also only has South facing windows ๐Ÿ˜…)

  10. Kaisey F on June 10, 2022 at 9:16 pm

Another to add- schefflera also love the intense sunlight! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Lesley Preston on June 10, 2022 at 9:16 pm

Ponytail palms are another great south facing window plant. My Zebrina Transcantina is doing well there too.

  12. shweta ahuja on June 10, 2022 at 9:17 pm

Awesome video…love watching your video, so much of valuable information. Can you do a similar one for northern facing window.

  13. Harley on June 10, 2022 at 9:18 pm

I only have south-facing (very slightly SE) windows for my plants and they’re all growing like crazy. I am pretty lucky to have a big maple outside, but they get several hours of direct sunlight in the morning. Some of the more basic/hardy hoya, a couple nepenthes, philodendron brasil and micans, monstera borsigiana, euphorbia trigona, a fishbone cactus, a couple types of succulents, and a few snakeplants. And a raven zz.

  16. Madeline Rivera on June 10, 2022 at 9:20 pm

I have more east and west windows. Also literally one north and one south. The south is in my bedroom but no plants there. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

  17. Liska Langdon on June 10, 2022 at 9:23 pm

I have snake plants on my front porch that is east/sout facing. They lived through 115 heat!! They have soo many pups! Our bedroom is south facing and we have a ton of snake plants in there.. as well as our bathroom is south and west facing and my Hoyas love it!!!

  18. Diana Hartley-Kim on June 10, 2022 at 9:25 pm

I have large southwest windows and Monstera Deliciosa is loving life in it. So is Hoya Pubicalyx. I am seeing if Hoya Curtisii will like it too.

  19. Marissa Fedor on June 10, 2022 at 9:26 pm

The areas of my house I can put plants primarily has southwest windows (leans more towards south) so this is helpful

  20. Max Hankins on June 10, 2022 at 9:26 pm

I honestly have so many plants in a west/southwest window and they handle the direct light so well! Maybe thereโ€™s an explanation but just normal plants such as monsteras, philos, Hoyas etc have never burned from the light!

  21. Get Planty With It on June 10, 2022 at 9:27 pm

This was super helpful, thank you!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. sheena b on June 10, 2022 at 9:30 pm

Iโ€™m a new sub and still going through your videos! Do you have one that helps you decide what patio plants are best for your climate (Iโ€™m in so cal and get no snow)? Thanks!!

This video is amazing! My best windows are east and south facing so good to know ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„

  25. Liska Langdon on June 10, 2022 at 9:30 pm

I do adore you.. you seem very sultry ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ or maybe even.. high ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ.. sorry but thatโ€™s kinda how it seems.. Iโ€™m sure youโ€™re not but ..

  26. Liska Langdon on June 10, 2022 at 9:32 pm

I love โค๏ธ love those euphorias!!!! I have green and red ones on my front porch as well as the ghost cactus and haworthia and tons of different types of jade etc!!!!

  27. Lisa tsen on June 10, 2022 at 9:37 pm

For sunny spots with indirect sun I’d recommend echeveria, they’re very pretty and in a myriad of colour when stressed under strong light. For colour variety and shapes, do consider echeveria ๐Ÿ˜‰

  28. Jennifer Daniels on June 10, 2022 at 9:37 pm

My hoya Obavata has 3 leaves that burnt on my south facing window.

  29. PlantyAtHeartโ™ก on June 10, 2022 at 9:40 pm

Yay u posted I forgot it was Tuesday so was a great surprise ๐Ÿ˜ƒ this will be perfect for me cus I have south facing windows too๐Ÿ’š

  30. SaikoPic on June 10, 2022 at 9:41 pm

That’s a Hahnii, Robusta types have long leaves like Trifasciata’s, not short rosettes. I think you got sold it mislabelled.

  31. Lisa Wagner on June 10, 2022 at 9:46 pm

I have screens on my south facing window and maybe that’s the difference, but I have a lot of my syngoniums in my south facing window as well as a hayworthia, a sansevaria, adansonii, scindapsis exotica, aglaonema, raphidifora tetrasperma and a few more I can’t remember right now. And they are all doing well. I even have my Monstera Albo there as well.

    house tourrrrrrr <3 <3 <3 cant wait

  33. Neisha Goodson on June 10, 2022 at 9:46 pm

Youโ€™re are so right about the snake plant! I had one that i overwatered and thought it was done. But i took it and put it in water and right in a west facing window and itโ€™s pushing out 4, yes, FOUR, new leaves! Put your snake plants in higher light if you want quicker growth!

Hey Kat! Can you do a video on how to acclimate plants to higher lighting conditions?

  36. Kendra Voracek on June 10, 2022 at 9:51 pm

I have my snake plant and string of hearts in a south facing window ๐Ÿ’š

  37. The hectic hobbyist on June 10, 2022 at 9:51 pm

I only have east and west windows…..

  38. Plantcorewh0re on June 10, 2022 at 9:52 pm

Ficus are also super good plants for south windows bc they love light! I keep mine outside for the summer and it gets ~5-6 hours of morning/ bright indirect mid day sun and sheโ€™s thriving!

  39. weewoo it's an avocado on June 10, 2022 at 9:52 pm

New way to be petty if you’re upset with your neighbor who is also into plants: plant a tree in the way of their best window

  40. TisButAScratch on June 10, 2022 at 9:53 pm

I recently got a syngonium fantasy from a big box store and brown spots have appeared on some of the variegated areas. Itโ€™s in a southern window
    Yeah, I think I burned itโ€ฆ.

  41. Lauren Farnsworth on June 10, 2022 at 9:55 pm

Can you talk more about what to expect from the different direction of light (ie due west facing windows in northern hemisphere) because I have only west facing and I just donโ€™t understand how itโ€™s different than east facing, isnโ€™t it just morning light vs evening light? Does it even matter?

  42. ema l on June 10, 2022 at 9:56 pm

ficus tineke and burgandy ficus and handle my south window rlly well and started growing very fast!!
