  5. Esmeralda Green on January 19, 2022 at 5:52 pm

They want to steal the house

  6. Brett on January 19, 2022 at 5:52 pm

With HOA’s , you don’t have any freedom . The basic premise behind HOA’s should be good, " setting standards for all whom live in the community" . But when you can’t even plant flowers in your own yard without getting permission or have the color of chair you choose on your patio, then it’s getting out of control.

  10. Alicia Melendez on January 19, 2022 at 5:59 pm

There are always people who just want to bully and intimidate those of us for nothing just because they just want to make themselves feel better. Those people need to be brought to justice for bully tactics and intimidation.

  11. Peoples Choice on January 19, 2022 at 6:00 pm

This ridiculous. People should finally wake up and stand up and destroy those criminal groups !

Why are HOAs a thing again?

  15. Bill Rundell on January 19, 2022 at 6:06 pm

HOA MEMBERS knew and agreed to the rules of the HOA
contract, before they purchase of the property.

  16. furlvr1961 on January 19, 2022 at 6:07 pm

HOAs are simply socialist/communist way of controlling the masses, much akin to Demon-cRats in government.

  17. Red Red on January 19, 2022 at 6:07 pm

A lot of HOAs are bullshyt. I guess they don’t have they funds to buys multiple rental communities and set the rules.

I lived in an HOA neighborhood once. I destroyed everything they ever planted and defaced as much of the common areas as i could. I would watch all weekend while all the mindless drones huff and puff and plant flowers everywhere and I would send my young minions out at night to destroy them. Don’t ever tell me I cant wash my boat in my front yard. I made the bastards pay in every way I could. I will never forget the letter I received from the HOA happily telling everyone that had now retained an Attorney. I sent them a note back and told it is not good news to me that I am now paying for legal council that can used against ME !The Pretty Heron Pointe sign they erected with glee was promptly defaced with all manner of unpleasant things (No profanity, I didnt want the kids to see such). The good news is that all these years later, I live on 6 acres of swamp. Me , the old lady and the dogs. NO TRESPASSING

Don’t buy in an HOA. End of story. Only stupid people buy in an HOA.

  20. Seymour Butts on January 19, 2022 at 6:12 pm

Why do people join HOA’s ?

  21. Bryan G on January 19, 2022 at 6:13 pm

Rule number 1: Avoid buying houses in neighborhoods that require you to join an HOA and be subject to its rules. If you cannot find a neighborhood without a HOA, then buy several acres of land in a rural area and build your house there.

Everybody that follows this rule will cause HOAs to go bankrupt and as a result, cease to exist. As for me, if I want common amenities such as a common swimming pool, fitness center, etc., then I would either rent an apartment or join a social club. HOAs are like having a landlord micromanage everything you do while you arr living in a house you are supposed to own and not rent. The advantage of rdnting over an HOA is you can up and leave after your lease expires and not having to worry about selling the house and finding a buyer for it. I would strongly recommend renting instead of buying a house that is tied into an HOA.

  25. Blondie SL on January 19, 2022 at 6:20 pm

    The answer is simple.

PEOPLE! STOP BUYING INTO THESE RIDICULOUS HOAs!!!

IT’s no different than those "time share" scams.

It’s been 1.5 years, so I wonder how this ended. Time to research it, I guess.
I sure hope that they won this DRACONIAN HOA court case.

  34. Elizabeth Welch on January 19, 2022 at 6:33 pm

I think everyone forgets that an HOA is made up of your fellow neighbors. Just go knock on their doors

  35. Fred Ferd on January 19, 2022 at 6:34 pm

  48. kvdgadj on January 19, 2022 at 6:48 pm

If they don’t pay, what are they going to. Send them to jail or prison?

  49. Moira Alexander on January 19, 2022 at 6:48 pm

I don’t understand?!! How anyone can have the right to tell you what to do,with your own garden; especially when you own the property.

  50. Laurie Lane on January 19, 2022 at 6:49 pm

HOA’s are unfair!! I lived in the Kingwood area of Houston & my HOA sent me threatening letters over & over about my yard which looked fine! (I had a professional yard crew that came twice a month) But to make them happy, I spent $1600.00+ re-mulching my yard & adding more plants/flowers as requested. They were still NOT happy & sent more threats! After several frustrating years with them I decided to sell my home & move!
