What are some cold hardy herbs that thrive at this time of year? These winter savory herbs are a perfect addition to your cool weather garden. Most of these are perennial herbs that grow in winter outside, depending on where you live. If it gets really cold, you can cover them with cloth or plastic and extend the season even further to get a true winter garden. Otherwise these cool weather herbs will survive fine beyond your first frost date in fall. These are the best perennial herbs you can grow if you want to extend your seasons and have a thriving fall garden or winter garden in zone 5 or zone 6. If you’re in a warmer location they’ll last even longer.

Great video! I had no idea chives are so hardy. We are in Arizona, so we don’t have to worry about frost too often, but the heat in the summer can be hard on our herbs.
