GROWING VEGETABLES INDOORS // Tomatoes and LED Grow Light Review

GROWING VEGETABLES INDOORS // Tomatoes and LED Grow Light Review

In this video we are setting up an indoor garden to grow vegetables out of season or to extend your growing season. I will be doing a led grow light review on Spider Farmers SF 2000 and grow tent. Growing vegetables indoors will help you increase growing space and allow you to become a little more self sufficient and less dependent on grocery stores for out of season produce.

The Grove tent is to control the heat humidity and the amount of darkness

  7. littleblackdogs B on October 19, 2021 at 10:01 am

How did this go? I can’t find an update.

  8. Patricia Nelson on October 19, 2021 at 10:01 am

Would love to follow along and see how this works. I bought pink colored lights last year only to find out that tomatoes dont like pink.

I started the same basic setup a few months ago using a Mars Hydro Tent and Light and the results were a complete disaster so I’m interested in how your setup turned out. We returned the Mars Hydro light and have been looking for a replacement, so this one looks pretty good. Friends of ours shared your channel with us and it has completely changed how we manage our garden and greenhouse. Thanks….

The sun could be lead using fiberglass. Would be interesting to try.

  16. FriedBacon on October 19, 2021 at 10:14 am

I guess this doesn’t work if you don’t have any updates 9 months after…

  17. Megan Diveley on October 19, 2021 at 10:14 am

I can’t wait to catch up. I just started some heirloom tomatoes and some peppers in a grow tent because we have a puppy that will not leave my raised beds alone.

  18. Shawn Dycus on October 19, 2021 at 10:15 am

Great content as usual. How did everything turn out in the spider farmer tent? interested in results before we make a purchase!

  19. Jenolistic on October 19, 2021 at 10:19 am

    Birmingham, AL
I have this exact light running for the first time and I and just bought my second sf2000.
Just germinated my first batch of tomato seeds (Kelloggs Bkfast & Cherokee Purple, and VF Romas).

I can already tell that my first shoots are not getting ‘leggy’ as my seedlings did last year under other Agrolite fixtures.

Planning to continue my determinate Romas going indoors under the sf2000.

Awesome lights. Love the dimmer capability. Not too much heat put off, just enough to keep the plants around 78 degrees.

    Bomb!
    Josh

    Any update videos?

  24. Lydie Baillie on October 19, 2021 at 10:24 am

Those vents are not for odors, they are to allow air flow and avoid mold and mildew., the plague of grow tents. And you still need to add fans to create the flow

  25. zedandbenson on October 19, 2021 at 10:25 am

Please keep us posted on this. I REALLY, wanna do grow light this season and am looking to invest in one. In climate 5a

  26. Brett Walling on October 19, 2021 at 10:28 am

I’ve been growing vegetables in my grandparents basement so they have fresh veggies all year but I’ve never been successful with tomatos. So I’m upping my grow lights and going for it again this year. I watch you’re videos all the time and with that I want to say thank you so much for teaching us you’re knowledge. keep it up brother! I just hope I can be a quarter as good as you at growing.

  27. Larry bluesky on October 19, 2021 at 10:29 am

I am trying to continue my tomatoes growing in my garage under grow lights this winter. I took cuttings, rooted them and then into soil. I now have 12 green (small) tomatoes on 3 different plants so I am hoping !

How did the tomatoes and up? Is there a video that shows what happened?

  29. Darkpaw TheWolf on October 19, 2021 at 10:33 am

What fertilizes the flowers on the peppers once they start to grow? I had a hard enough time this year with the (unfertilized) flowers falling off the plants outdoors, and didn’t get peppers until the start of September. How do they produce fruit while inside this device?

the way he said "might be a little smelly" I died lmfaooo… just say weed bruh…say it looooool

  32. David e on October 19, 2021 at 10:35 am

For over $300 USD on just the growlight, if it is really an original "Spider farmer" design and not a re-branded $70 Chinese LED board, it could be nice of them to integrate a simple timer built-in to that top control/power box… oh well

  33. Gledison Fonseca on October 19, 2021 at 10:35 am

thanks for sharing. for beginners with just a few plants, do you have a relatively cheap grow light to recomend? im trying that Smartwares grow light but it seems that is not enough ligtht for tomatoes. the plants grow quite leggy and after 4 months, no flowers at all. thanks again

  34. wineboss chris on October 19, 2021 at 10:36 am

Too much money for a tiny growing space.

    EXPENSIVE !

  40. W Brown on October 19, 2021 at 10:44 am

This is great but i am concerned that there is 0 airflow and fresh air going to the tent…. Looks like all the vents are closed, and no forced airflow with fans

  41. Chuckamus Prime on October 19, 2021 at 10:45 am

I’m thankful you went through this methodically, I’m looking into this very thing myself. Growing microgreens, starting my seeds early indoors before coldframing in the early spring, or growing veggies in the late fall/winter. My birthday is this month so I’m hoping to buy a 2×4, multi-shelf setup for my basement here in Virginia.

  42. Cynthia Paul on October 19, 2021 at 10:45 am

I am VERY interested to see how this goes.

  43. poochyface1 on October 19, 2021 at 10:46 am

Following, I need to learn more

  44. Norm on October 19, 2021 at 10:46 am

You still need exhaust fans to move the air around inside of the tent and exhaust heat from the light LOL. You can’t just close up plants inside of a tent, that’s a mold factory waiting to happen. You need to monitor the humidity and the temperature or problems can occur. Plants need fresh air like humans.

  45. Clive Parsons on October 19, 2021 at 10:47 am

    Have u an updated video?

  46. James Davenport on October 19, 2021 at 10:47 am

I’m very interested in doing this.

  47. Jessica Clark on October 19, 2021 at 10:47 am

    The exhaust fan comment 😂😂😂😂😂

Did you ever do updates for those of us (me) who suck at finding the videos lol.

  48. Sa Alston on October 19, 2021 at 10:49 am

So I don’t know but is it a must to use the grow tent or can I just use a dark room

  49. John Romanowski on October 19, 2021 at 10:49 am

I was thinking real seriously about purchasing there grow tent kit with the 2’x4′ tent and sf2000 but it’s almost 600 dollars. I want to try growing san marzonos in 5 gal. bucket, but do i need all the other things that’s included or can I just get the tent and the sf2000. How many 5 gal. buckets with the tomatoes will fit in the tent?

  50. Martin Laak on October 19, 2021 at 10:52 am

I cant find kwh per kg (or pound) of tomatoes. Can someone help me? Electricity is quite expensive here in Sweden. So I need to know how much I end up paying in energy per unit of food. Can someone help?
