Don’t put topsoil on top take the first few inches out use sand like beach sand on top an water from the bottom and to the sand on top mix some spicy spice powder empty water from bottom when plants won’t take up any more an cut back on water. If I only followed me own advice most of the time I would have better results

I used sand, much cheaper. Put a haft inch layer of coarse sand on top of your houseplants soil.

The first one, the Apple cider vineger in the glass jar you’re supposed to (from how I was shown) you’re supposed to make a paper funnel and have the wider part of the funnel sticking out of the jar and the narrow part inside the jar. Tape the funnel to the jar so they would have no other way of getting out.
Try to make the narrow part of the funnel very narrow too. Maybe an eighth of an inch or a little less.
The idea is is that the flies can go into the jar via the wider opening but are confused of now to exit so they essentially get trapped and eventually die.
You can use anything to attract them as well such as a small piece of lemon, banana etc.

The music is louder than your talking.

  30. Sandra Barrett-Hoomani on October 1, 2021 at 8:33 am

If you’ve "been at war with gnats" since getting your plants have you used the methods mentioned in this video and these methods have failed … or … have you not tested any of your methods to see if they work before posting this video?

  31. Rauwe bob on October 1, 2021 at 8:33 am

Nuke it? I definitely killed 25 gnats in a row, but I didn’t receive the nuke…

  32. Tom Douglas on October 1, 2021 at 8:33 am

Useful info, but hard to hear. The music volume is way too loud in comparison to your voices 🙁 Not trying to be mean, just hopefully a helpful suggestion 🙂

  33. Meri Chase on October 1, 2021 at 8:34 am

Would you please spell the number one’s name. I am unable to read the product name. And… my poor houseplants are infested.

  34. Gio Flores on October 1, 2021 at 8:36 am

Can’t you also just fill up a spray bottle with water and a bit of dish soap and spray all over soil and plant?

  35. John Smith on October 1, 2021 at 8:36 am

Remind me of seth Rogen’s skinnier brother lol

  40. whypk on October 1, 2021 at 8:44 am

For the apple cider vinegar and soap method, cut a piece of plastic from a grocery bag to go over the top of your cups loosely and completely. Use a rubber band to keep it in place. You want your excess of the plastic to be inside to create a cone like funnel. Then take a pencil tip and stab a small hole through To make an entrance. The apple cider vinegar method allows you to multiple multiple traps for less then 5 bucks and it does work! I’ve also heard lemon scented soap helps, as well as a few drops of honey. Mix and match, try it out. Another tip, 3% hydrogen peroxide can be found at the dollar store; mix 1 part peroxide and 4 parts water. Wait till your top soil is dry and water like you normally would and that should kill the larvae in the soil. Lastly, I use a 1 part alcohol and 1 part water mix to mist and kill spider mites, I noticed that it also kills fungus gnats on contact as well.
