Gardening Tools – Repair & Restoration

Gardening Tools – Repair & Restoration

In this video I do some garden tool restoration and repairs in order to get a set of functioning tools I can use to cut down some trees, bushes and shrubbery so that we can extend our lawn. Featuring a pair of vintage Carl Kammerling shears, a spade / shovel, a fork plus some super hot winter gardening action!

Hi Keith, realy great to see some positive recycling. A couple of ferrules might have been a nice touch, just to reduce the chance of splitting and finish off the handles.

  2. Jimmy Jommy on May 19, 2022 at 8:05 pm

Keith why didn’t you use your Milwaukee chainsaw which you showed us in vlog 12?

  3. Kai-Uwe Schierz on May 19, 2022 at 8:07 pm

So sad…you should plant more than just Grass…check the Hortus-Netzwerk Germany for ideas…
The restoration part is great nevertheless.

  23. ZardozSpeaks on May 19, 2022 at 8:29 pm

Sorry to be "that guy" mate, but it’s really dangerous to raise a mattock above your head. They should never be raised higher than your shoulders. Unlike an axe, say, where a lose head will fly off away from the user, a loose mattock head will slide down the handle towards the user.

Wow… that hurt to watch. That was some beautiful landscaping. Those bushes were so well defined and blended wonderfully.

That being said, awesome job on restoring the tools.

Hat and coat stand, I’d like to see a video special on these one day.

  42. Dan C on May 19, 2022 at 8:51 pm

You could save the wood from the small tree for woodworking / woodturning- it’s not that big but you could maybe make something small out of it

  43. Frederick Wood on May 19, 2022 at 8:54 pm

The grass. It looks like a Formium. Anyway they tend to have a shallow but intense root bowl. My suggestion is to get under it and pull it like a tooth.

  44. Chris Perry on May 19, 2022 at 8:54 pm

I chuckled when you pulled out that distinctive looking piece of scrap wood!

  45. Andy UK - SY Corrival - Rival 32 on May 19, 2022 at 8:57 pm
