Greetings, Erica, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
We just survived January, our Florida winter. We got 1 freeze that lasted about an hour! However, we had several mornings that dropped into the 30’s F. But now it’s February and time to weed, clean and seed!
As always, your channel is delightful and informative. Nice to see you collaborate with Liz and Niall πŸŒΏπŸ’šπŸŒΏ

Timely video for sure…… cleaning my greenhouse has been on my list for a few weeks now, and I haven’t yet crossed it off. But after watching your video I have promised myself that I will do it this weekend! Thanks for the kick I needed!

  3. Digwell Greenfingers on February 9, 2022 at 10:24 pm

Nice one Erica. Can I hire you for a few hours to pop over and clean my pots and trays? LOL It takes me forever cos I get bored doing it!
    Have a great week

Thank you Erica, this was another fine video. These are the cleaning tasks that if delayed long enough will be skipped if not done straight away. I find myself in the fall sorting all the supplies making a list to reorder supplies and tools. I am disabled and it takes longer to do things so the more organized I am the better for me. I have created a checklist of supplies and activities to put the garden away. Washing the trays and utensils is part of that. I have totes for spring items and a tote for fall items as the garden is quite different from spring to fall.
With the supply issues I have started ordering things right away and placing them into the appropriate tote as I have them divided into items. I am blessed with enough money to buy all the soil, fertilizer, seeds, small tools ect ahead of time if I need to. I know that not everyone is that fortunate. I do buy all my tools at yard sales never stores. If a shovel in $1 and they have 4 I buy them all. when I meet someone that needs one I can gladly say here are four take your pick. It is a win for everyone a small win but still a win. Blessings on you and your garden bye for now

  10. Mandy Taylor on February 9, 2022 at 10:33 pm

Hi Erica loving this video again. Charles dowding says you don’t need to wash or clean your trays and pots and I never have. I have seen and heard lots of people doing this so just thought I would share what Charles said. I continuing watching now πŸ–

Hi Erica, great video! I cleaned the majority of my starter trays, cells and pots on a rainy day last fall I do have a few still in areas of the garden under at least 2 ft. About 61 cm. Of snow so will be a bit before I have access! I am happy to report that my brassicas have sprouted (broccoli, cabbage, toy Choy, Brussels sprouts and spinach) so good to see some green popping up when everything outside is very white!

  14. Roo's Life on February 9, 2022 at 10:45 pm

    Great video, Erica!

I’m with Roo and Jane! I trust Charles Dowding on the topic of cleaning seed trays (i.e. don’t do it 😜 )

Thank you for reminding me about the nesting boxes though!

  17. Ali D on February 9, 2022 at 10:48 pm

Nope I use just organic dish soap in my garden. I have to wash my fleeces and hang them up lol try to find a place to hang them off the ground is the hard part. Thank you for sharing can’t wait to see the updates come spring πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‘πŸ safe

  23. David's Allotment on February 9, 2022 at 11:01 pm

Another excellent video Erica. My main task is to clean out the Garden Shed and putting compost over the cardboard in the no dig bed and preparation of the potato bed which means removing the weed control membrane and digging over the soil and add some volcanic rock dust ( it’s excellent stuff for providing essential nutrients) I just shovel it on and let the worms cultivate it into the soil.

  25. Patricia Ncube on February 9, 2022 at 11:06 pm

Nice list of chores to get done. I am working on a plan to control pest in the garden and not damage soil and plants. Thank you for sharing.

  26. Pete Bartlett on February 9, 2022 at 11:11 pm

I’ve got a polycarbonate greenhouse and got algae growing inside the gaps…
What’s the best way to clean it,replacing them isn’t an option this year.
