Just wondering..wood chips, once u harvest do you just mix the wood chips into the soil? Do you try to remove some? I’ve seen people add hay too, just wasn’t sure how that effects the soil/garden area

Super new here! Thanks for the video!! Couple questions, what’s the easiest to grow?? Is fertilizer important? I’m in an apartment with a high wooden fence, should I plant in the middle of my yard? Any fruit that are easier? I have 4 kiddos that love melons!! I started growing inside and put grass seeds, which I thought was fertilizer, and killed everything so im trying to hurry and catch up. I’m in iowa btw. Thanks so much!!!!
