This is the best time of year to gather all sorts of herbs and flowers for tea storage: mint, rose petals, chamomile, mint, and bee balm are at the top of my list.

Hi Shaye! I planted what you put in your tea this year in my garden. I am totally happy. I drink the tea nearly nightly and it is just magical. It really seems to deepen my sleep and refreshes me. Super cool. I didn’t get a chamomile harvest but I have blossoms stored. I haven’t added that to my tea as yet. Thx for the blessing of the video, the harvest and the direct affect it has had on my life!

How many years did it take you to establish your herbs? Trying to grow a tea garden in California & thinking it may take me years to establish a beautiful one like yours.

  17. Wild Women Herbs on June 27, 2022 at 9:47 pm

I absolutely love your videos and your garden is so lovely. I just wanted to pop in to gently correct the "bee balm" flower that you added to your tea. That isn’t Bee Balm, which are in the Monarda genus of the Mint Family. The flowers you are harvesting are Centaurea Montana, which is a type of blue cornflower and in the Daisy Family. Totally different plants in different plant families. Bee Balms have a strong oregano scent with pink/purple/red blooms and Cornflowers don’t have much of a scent but are still lovely in tea blends, especially for their beautiful blue coloring. I hope that helps your viewers properly identify the difference between the two <3

mint makes some good tea -but it lacks some sort of other flavor – it likes to over power everything – good for a peppermint paddy

  36. Mr1AFS on June 27, 2022 at 10:05 pm

Being that its spring once again, please make another video like this!

  37. Growing in the Country on June 27, 2022 at 10:06 pm

Lovely! It now seems completely obvious – I’ve heard of raspberry leaf tea, but it never occurred to me it would be just raspberry leaves!! It’s cold here now so I’m going to go grab some from the garden and see what it tastes like! I have the most beautifully scented roses out there so I’ll give that a go too. Thanks for the inspiration! ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s genius puting your dehydrator down there off the counter top but still easy to get to.

  47. NPC 1337 on June 27, 2022 at 10:22 pm

This is such a nice relaxing video, but I just want to say (because I canโ€™t help but notice) that you are really damaging your hair… from my own experience you may want to stop bleaching it.You are about three bleaches from your hair falling out Iโ€™m serious!

  48. Marisa Lee on June 27, 2022 at 10:24 pm

The flowers and leaves look so pretty collected into your basket! That first plant you stopped at, you called it bee balm, and normally I’ve only heard that for a couple of species of Monarda, but the plant in the video looks like Centaurea, probably Centaurea montana, mountain cornflower or sometimes called bachelor’s buttons (it is a cousin the fuller flowers more commonly known as bachelor’s buttons). I have never heard it called bee balm, but common names are slippery like that, so I wondered if it was a regional name for this flower. Oddly, people over here say honeysuckle when we mean columbine – it is the strangest thing but very widespread! I grew up saying it, too. So much fun to see these spring blooms and remember it won’t be long.
