You could really benefit from a false wall of layered greenhouse material in the place of the garage door

If you’re still cracking those black walnuts I’ve found a great trick for them. Start with putting them all in a wire basket/shopping basket size is great. Then pressure wash them to get the husk off and down to the hulls. works soooo good! Then buy a "Grandpa’s Goody Getter" to crack them. Boy does that work great. I use it while I’m watching tv. Then If you want you can freeze the nuts or what I like to do is to put them in a canning jar and use my vacuum sealer to take all the air out and store in freezer or in your pantry. Love making banana nut bread with them and this year I’d love to make some black walnut ice cream! 🙂

Thrilled to have your growing season round the corner ! There is indeed a lot to observe and learn ,👌👌 sometimes more than a how to video would provide.
Why not proud of a black walnut tree? A lot of leafy green vegetables are not afraid of juglone. Plus you get a lot of walnut leaves that make your land more fertile automatically in the long run. All deciduous trees absorb tons of good minerals from deep underground and produce a lot of dead leaves to make your top soil more fertile. Let the leaves decompose naturally on the ground and you will end up with a good piece of fertile land. There is no need to compost anything; nature will work everything out for you.
Nice blueberries bushes, they will come up real well after pruning. That lime tree is GORGEOUS! Wow, nice….keep at it, so cool to have a TREE indoors 🙂 Nice sage too…that grows and keeps nicely over winter. Thanks for sharing!

Donna, you are on your way to a wonderful 2016. I feel sorry for you with all the work you have to put into your lime tree. Scale is HORRIBLE. When I have a plant with scale, I am not as patient as you. I use a spray bottle and BLAST away. But I do understand that it is worth all the work. Your lime tree always looks beautiful come Spring. 1:19 I see some BEAUTIFUL dandelion greens next to your mustard. During my Winter I buy dandelion greens. :0) I think I also saw some Chickweed, which is another wonderful green I add to my salads. Take care my friend and I look forward to your 2016 gardening journey.
Wow the garage area plants looks very nice . Did you try Insecticidal Soap Insect Killer spray for the scale ? I works for me. Enclose the whole plant in a plastic bag and spray to whole thing. It may take a few times. Thanks for the very interesting video.
Great info on the blueberries. I had no idea about the waiting period for new side shoots. Enjoyed the snow!!
Wow! you got me with the blueberry plants! I did not know to wait 2 years on them. I will be planting a few this spring, and I am so glad you mentioned that! My fruit trees and bushes are going to be the first in, and I’m glad I won’t make the mistake of "trimming" them when I plant them. Loved the Video, and so happy to learn the "workings" of blueberry bushes. Thank you so much, Sheila PS I have read a lot about them, but never this!!!

wow – that’s awesome that all of those plants survived the snow! Remind me again why you can’t just take down the black walnut? If you have a wood stove it’s great wood for burning! I’m going to go check out your blueberry video now. Ours are in containers because our clay soil has a high pH (around 7) and I haven’t gotten around to preparing the site yet. As far as the lime tree – looks like a nutrient deficiency to me, maybe iron or nitrogen?
I was wondering if you could tell me what type of things you do with all your wonderful herbs (lemongrass, echanecia)?
