I wish he would have given examples of how far to raise your lights based on the lumens. Mine are 4300 lumens so how high can I effectively keep my lights above the plants.

what is the metal stand for the tube light called? where can I find that?

  3. Terri Persson on August 28, 2021 at 12:41 am

    How close per lumins?

  4. Aldo Garro on August 28, 2021 at 12:41 am

    Next to useless

  5. What Grows Around Comes Around on August 28, 2021 at 12:41 am

Just a small caveat, luminosity (lumens) is inversely proportional to the square of the distance.. That is to say, if you move the grow light from 1 foot away to 2 feet away, the lumens will be 4 times lower!

I’m completely inside this yr for the veggies and i kinda understand, thanks.

This vid was 2 years ago, so what about the new? Red/blue led growlights, they’re quite cheaper now compared to daylights, question is, are they more effective?

I grow marijuana. I make salves and heavy duty pain relieving/healing creams. I’ve watched a bunch a videos and many you-tubers seem to complicate things. I’ll admit that buying expensive light(s) would probably produce higher yields, but a "shop lite’ led (non t8 non t5) produce for me, satisfactory results. Side note: when you’re in pain, there are three choices; live with it, take meds with constipating opiates if your pain management doctor will even prescribe them for you, or grow your own. For those of you that still associate "pot" and with a negative connotation (stereo-typical propaganda) you might consider studying the chemical constituents with the same ambition as you might study the amazing science in clove oil, rosemary oil or oil of frankincense or eucalyptus . As with many ‘things’– hemp can be abused and often is. As for my employees, every 90 days is mandatory blood testing. Their is a choice here. Recreate to your heart’s content and find work else where. (Or stay well paid and employed). Pretty straight forward actually. Good video by the way.

I use a couple MaxLite shoplights strung together, each one is 5000 kelvin and it works fine for seedlings. I’ve grown an entire room full of massive plants off those lights before and the results were okay but not great so I wouldn’t reccomend them for that. But for seedlings they work really really well and they’re like $10 a pop.

  14. Christie Thomas on August 28, 2021 at 12:50 am

If I get lights with these specs to start seedlings could I use those same lights for house plants or overwintering some of my patio plants?

I just want to know, is grow lights mainly for people who don’t stay in an area where they can grow in natural sunlight, or are there benefits to grow with lights apart from having more control over your growing and flowering seasons? Also is it possible to use sunlight and use grow-lights to supplement the hours of sunlight you have.

  16. FOODBITS NINJA on August 28, 2021 at 12:51 am

Thank youuuu on point just what I need! Great video !

  17. Shannon Philpott on August 28, 2021 at 12:54 am

I live is zone 11 I get about 13 hours of sunlight a day right now high are 71F lows are 62F. Do you think my pepper would grow faster if I have them outside or if I have them under my professional grow light that I keep on for 18 hours a day. My goal is speed as I want to produce the fastest growing seedling to sale to other growers.

    Kind regards

  19. Ken Bach on August 28, 2021 at 1:00 am

    That was vary helpful

  20. tony yagiello on August 28, 2021 at 1:01 am

What about full spectrum? I see that on all grow lights, but do I really only need lumen and 6500k to worry about?

  21. Savanah Joy on August 28, 2021 at 1:02 am

    700?? BRUH

  22. Angeles Castaneda on August 28, 2021 at 1:02 am

  23. Ginger Nightmare on August 28, 2021 at 1:03 am

In the UK I’m not getting Kelvin or Lumens listed for grow lights. I get 2000W 48 LED.

  24. Andi Elliott on August 28, 2021 at 1:05 am

  28. Daniel Roden on August 28, 2021 at 1:09 am

you can get 4 foot shop LEDS off amazon that are 6k color at 4000 lumens for 75 dollars for a 4 pack. they are linkable and sturdy. 700 dollars is insane for beginners. if you want to maximize your lights surrround the plants with mylar film glued to foam board or get the rolls of reflective insulation for 20 dollars from amazon. way cheaper and way more energy efficient and just as effective.

    good video!!!!

  30. Tina H on August 28, 2021 at 1:13 am

Thank you so much. After many failures on my beautiful light table, I followed the instructions in this video. This year my seedlings are beautiful and healthy!

  31. North Brilliancy Shenzhen Technology Co., LTD on August 28, 2021 at 1:14 am

    Very good, great

  32. P M on August 28, 2021 at 1:14 am

Wouldnt it be far better to talk about LUX instead of LUMEN? Because lux ist de density of light and doesnt care about lumen, you just have to adjust the distance of your lightsource, whatever brightness it might have.

  33. Hector Perez on August 28, 2021 at 1:17 am

great video !! thanks for sharing !!

  34. J S on August 28, 2021 at 1:17 am

Sorry, I have a concussion and can’t watch this entire vid. Can someone just give me the tldr version? Product links would be amazing. Does he provide that at some point?

  35. HodLSpacecraft on August 28, 2021 at 1:18 am

"It all depends on how you use it that dictates your success."

    That’s what she said

  36. New Memer on August 28, 2021 at 1:22 am

So do these lights heat up the plants and the soil apropriately too? Or is it just providing enough light? LEDs typically are rather efficient and don’t produce much heat, so does the light itself do, if it’s in the ultra violet spectrum?

  37. Kermit Jones on August 28, 2021 at 1:24 am

Thanks for the video, very clear and informative. Could I ask, why would you have those high lumen lights on the ceiling with the plants so far away? Surely it’s a waste? Is it because it’s easier to install on the roof than build a stand? Or do you normally have bigger/taller plants in this space? Thanks

  38. Martin Hatol on August 28, 2021 at 1:25 am

Is it safe to be exposed to grow lights?

You made this simple topic so confusing, probably the answer was in the video somewhere but couldn’t handle it to the end. Could of been done in a 2 min.
