If you add mulch to the garden beds they will help keep soil moist, it also protects from pests. I use hay but dry leafs are also good and it will also feed your plants.

Cool video, wish I had that much space for garden beds. I’m in zone 4b. Thanks for sharing.

Cardboard does work, but you might wanna try just mulching all of your garden beds. Check out Maritime Gardening. He’s got a great channel with a lot of good information and works a 9-5 while doing it. That’s a great garden though. I would love to have an area of that size that is flat so I could do something similar.

Also, great save on the plants. They definitely looked pretty rough. Most people would have just chalked it up to a bad year and left it alone, so well done.

So exciting to see a MN gardener on here! Thank you for all your hard work. Check out Twin Cities Adventures channel, he has some videos on pruning fruit trees 🌳

I enjoy your videos. I hope you keep doing them. I too, garden here in MN, in southern Anoka County. I’ve not done any seed starting , either starts from the garden center or direct sow cucumbers, carrots, radishes and beets. I’ve decided to try starting tomatoes next year to see how it goes. Maybe a one annual flower too. Dont want to get a head of myself.
