The only difference I see with my tools and yours is my tools are well used. Nice rack I like it a lot.

Was the 5 deg angle on the back of the brackets to tilt the brackets upward? It looks like the cut was not the full height of the bracket – like only about half. See 55-105. Why?

2×4? or 2×6? Great work!! I want to make those for my shed.

  4. Happ y on June 18, 2022 at 9:20 pm

    unflexible and overkill

  5. X Y on June 18, 2022 at 9:22 pm

Yes! I’ve been looking for an organization style like this for my tools!! Thank you!!!

  6. Phillip Hinkle on June 18, 2022 at 9:22 pm

Quick and easy.. Thanks. How deep are the brackets?

  7. Christopher Holly on June 18, 2022 at 9:24 pm

Great scrap wood project, bomber strong and sweet soundtrack! Gonna mount mine with a couple shims behind the bottom edge of the ledger board for security – thanks!!

Why do you do the slight back and forth when you start your cut with the miter saw? Does it prevent tearout?

  9. Beth Smith on June 18, 2022 at 9:27 pm

more versatile than other single tool brackets. able to hold more in less space. real benefit.

  10. Harold Rowland on June 18, 2022 at 9:28 pm

How much 2 x 6 do I need for this project?

  11. KJV ReViews on June 18, 2022 at 9:28 pm

Would be nice if I had all the saws and drills to make

  15. Bill Strike on June 18, 2022 at 9:39 pm

Nice! I have to laugh a little because I have a tendency to build things with overkill as well.

  16. Mitchell Kasdin on June 18, 2022 at 9:44 pm

You should clamp the workpiece or use a hold down keep your fingers away from the blade please.

  17. Christopher Umberger on June 18, 2022 at 9:49 pm

How long are the arm piece and what is the angle cut at the bottom?

  18. heavy feather on June 18, 2022 at 9:51 pm

  20. Brian on June 18, 2022 at 9:53 pm

thank you!, I just built this today using your video

  21. trent farrell on June 18, 2022 at 9:58 pm

Why not cut them to the correct angle to start with then you get two cuts in one motion.nice job though.good project

  22. Alan Meijer on June 18, 2022 at 9:59 pm

Why all the back’n’forth cutting with the miter saw? (Justifying the slide mechanism? 🙂 LOL). Just kidding. No really. Why?

  23. Joe Foley on June 18, 2022 at 10:01 pm

Thumbs up at least because of the name 👍

  24. James Joiner on June 18, 2022 at 10:02 pm

Very nice work sir. I finally found the design I intend to use my my garage because of you.
Whats the deepest you’d recommend those arms reach?
From my mounting wall, I have roughly 10" before it interferes with my garage door railing. I like your stacking method but dont want to add too much weight. I’d obviously would store heavier tooling against the backer board and lighter ones on the opened side.
What final length did you end up with on yours?

  25. RG Tree Service on June 18, 2022 at 10:03 pm

    Great video

  26. Jason Hodgws on June 18, 2022 at 10:06 pm

You must think wood grows on trees. What a waste

Thanks for posting this. I got some 2×4 from a pallet that was carrying something very tall, lugged it home in the pickup, and kept the 2×4 for a rainy day. After 20 something years of putting my garden tools in a corner or wherever I could fit them I finally looked up organizational ideas and decided this was the one for me. It works *perfectly* and I am ecstatic.

Finally decided to organize my shed-like garage (it’s barely big enough for a MINI) and installed some pegboard as well. Thanks for posting this. This was a 1 out of 10 in terms of difficulty – the hardest part was finding my countersink bit – and a 10 out of 10 in terms of functionality and form!

And just to clarify 2×4 work fine. I would suggest people use whatever spare material they have. A zero cost project like this is just fantastic.
