I have a shelf that is 2′ by 3′. Do you think I could I get away with 1 (2 linked together) of these per shelf like you did or should I double that? I will mainly be using it for starting seeds.

  16. Kevin Haddon on June 11, 2022 at 9:17 pm

I can’t find the link to the light panels you use in this video. The link you posted here (http://amzn.to/2raRGV2) took me to the general LED grow light area. Please post the exact link to the item you used, please. Thank you.

    Thanks

  32. Antoine B on June 11, 2022 at 9:40 pm

How do you know that the distance between the light and the plant is at optimum level. Too close will burn the plant and too far away decreases the efficiency of the light.

  33. Perry Lew on June 11, 2022 at 9:42 pm

Nice DIY project, I will most likely build with similar shelf I have. The only thing I would probably not do is mount powerstrip under bottom shelf. The power supplies for panels need to be vented or they will burn out prematurely.

Have been looking for months for a cheap solution that provides plenty of space. This is exactly what I needed!!!!

This is great. I covered a larger white shelf in visqueen and used it outside for a greenhouse. It worked

  38. jimmy Ross on June 11, 2022 at 9:48 pm

  43. Rukidding me?! on June 11, 2022 at 9:52 pm

Great idea! I was thinking the same with my baker’s rack so I didn’t have to drill a hole. This could be good for small hydroponic stuff too.

  44. Jeffrey Lutz on June 11, 2022 at 9:53 pm

My LED lights came yesterday and I’m picking up the other supplies tomorrow to build one of these this weekend. How is your’s working? Do you have any plants yet?

  45. Joyce Mastaw on June 11, 2022 at 9:53 pm

This looks like a really great idea. I may have to look for a place in our "little" house to set one up. Our growing season is so short up here that we can’t plant outdoors until late May. It would be nice to start my own plants instead of buy them at the garden stores and getting more plants than I need or not even the kind I want. Thanks

  46. Jeremie Jarrett on June 11, 2022 at 9:54 pm

Do you leave the lights on 24/7?

  47. Debra Lee Hillius on June 11, 2022 at 9:54 pm

very nicely put together where do i find the light?

  48. Mikey Mike on June 11, 2022 at 9:55 pm

where did you get this shelf? im looking for one like it on amazon

  49. Rob D on June 11, 2022 at 9:57 pm

Hey. Did you look at incorporating a small fan for air flow? I was looking at the little computer fans for mine.

  50. Jodi Garmatz on June 11, 2022 at 9:57 pm

My plan is to use an old curio cabinet to use as a indoor greenhouse. The cabinet is 6 feet tall and the shelves are glass. My question is how many panels would you suggest I get for 4 shelves. Do I need one for every shelf if my shelves are made of glass? Thank you for the advice! Jodi
