Sorry for all the comments so if I’m understanding some of your beds were actually wider than 30 inches depending on if you planted on the outside of each outer drip tape. What would u say the width would be then in total ? 50 inches ? And did you plant all your annuals besides Zinnias that way or did u just do some planted in 2 rows

Can I pinch Dahlia without interfering with the flowering?

  3. Anneke Weide on November 5, 2021 at 11:33 am

Thanks for the video! Just wondering: if you don’t do this for profit, what do you do with all the flowers you produce? What is the goal of your flower production? And how much time are you busy to manage your flower production? Are other people working at your farm who get a profit from it?

  4. Tommaso Casolari on November 5, 2021 at 11:33 am

What are the best flowers that don’t get very tall? I mean that they stay about as small as a geranium.

  5. bre24 on November 5, 2021 at 11:34 am

Thanks for this! I took notes to refer back to. As a side note, as far as aphids, something that really helped for me was spraying them with a mixture of Dr Bronner peppermint soap and water. Kills them off. I’ve used only that method for the past two years. They obviously keep coming, but just keep spraying them. Easy non toxic solution!

Great overview! Anyone who is serious about growing cut flowers needs to get the book Cut Flower Garden by Erin Benzakien creator of Floret. It is the most extensive book you can buy and you will find yourself using it endlessly. I have had it for years and still use it all the time. She shares everything needed from season to season. It is a priceless resource. She has free mini courses each month too. The cut flower bible.

Ok so the dahlias were planted right down the middle of the tea post line but what about the irrigation. Was there 3 drip tapes around the dahlias as well.

Hello Laura Your baby is beautiful . My question for you is
could you show your Green Stalk planter with the supertunias? I bought one after watching you with yours and I plan to plant supertunias. Was 2 plants enough?

  17. Susan Johnson on November 5, 2021 at 11:45 am

Do you have a video or post about how your drip system works for your flower garden? Or a link to what drip tape you used? Thanks!!

  18. prayalways on November 5, 2021 at 11:45 am

My pond plants have done well in vase; lotus, and the dried lotus seed pods, purple pickerel, purple water iris , gold water iris, cat tails, water fern, and I clip from my potted ferns.
    Congratulations on sweet baby girl!

The soil under pine trees or evergreens is more acidic.. you might want to check your soil in many different places before putting soil acidifier on everything. If you do that under the pine trees your soil will be too acidic!

  20. Defend yourself Brother on November 5, 2021 at 11:47 am

Love the channel. I just planted all my spring flowers today! It was amazing to get in the garden and clean up and plant up!

  21. Gail Rees on November 5, 2021 at 11:52 am

That was amazing thank you so much 💖👏

  22. J S on November 5, 2021 at 11:53 am

When you succession sow, how is that usually done? I’m assuming if you have lots of land/space that means planting in a different spot? But does that mean in a totally different section of the property "far away" or do you plant in a prepared bed right next to the current bed that is about to be harvested? If the latter is the correct way to do it, do you have to plan your garden ahead of time so that there are a few rows for a specific variety, and you plant that variety in one row and keep the other rows unplanted and ready for the succession sow? I keep coming back to this video and it makes me realize something new every time. Thank you! <3

  23. Tracy McGrath on November 5, 2021 at 11:53 am

I hope this isn’t too bold to ask…. now that you have the larger property (a lot MORE work) how many people are on your staff (full and/or part time)?

  24. Nikki Holton on November 5, 2021 at 11:56 am

I know this is late …but what size are your actual cutting beds ? The width mainly ….and how many drip tapes per bed

  25. Rhapsidy B. on November 5, 2021 at 11:57 am

It is time for you to write a book, or two, or ten 🙂

  26. Della Wagner on November 5, 2021 at 12:00 pm

I have a flower bed along the fence in the front what do you suggest I can plant there

  27. Nikki Holton on November 5, 2021 at 12:00 pm

So 30 inch beds with drip every 10 inches ….do you plant on both sides in a zip zag fashion?
Do you plant the dahlias differently??

  28. Jocelyn Reitze on November 5, 2021 at 12:00 pm

Do you recommend drip tape for just a household sized cutting garden?

  29. bluesky7226 on November 5, 2021 at 12:02 pm

FABULOUS! You are a treasure! Thank you. 💝💝

GREAT Q n A!!! TYTYTY! HOPEFUL for the Flower garden this year!!!

  38. Virginia Spindle on November 5, 2021 at 12:13 pm

I’ve had to move and am starting from scratch. I purchased a lot of seeds and some have blood dates of over 300 days. Not sure how that works. Do I just plant and wait until next year or what? Dumb questions, I guess.

  39. Truth Talker on November 5, 2021 at 12:13 pm

@Allisyn H… flowers don’t like being watered from above. If you let the sprinkler water your flowers, that is a big reason why some flowers don’t look good. Laura’s flowers are mostly watered from below and that is one reason they look so pristine!

  40. Moro Dodo on November 5, 2021 at 12:15 pm

    Are statice(sea lavender) fragrant??

  41. Good Thoughts on November 5, 2021 at 12:17 pm

This was very educational, Laura! Thank you. Inspired by you, I’m growing flowers from seed now, and it’s much fun! And so gratifying, as you say. I’m going to try growing from seed some of the flowers you recommend in this video.

  42. Lisa Donnelly on November 5, 2021 at 12:21 pm

Winter sow – thats what I do as I don’t have grow lights and stuff . Just try it – it’s easy for a lot of
seeds as long as it gets moisture. Laura has done it. Google it.

  43. Liz Henselmeier on November 5, 2021 at 12:21 pm

Thank you this was very helpfu,

  44. Karen Schwartz on November 5, 2021 at 12:21 pm

Thank you for all the suggestions.

  45. Nellie Foley on November 5, 2021 at 12:24 pm

I would use a label that you stake high so you can see it walking down the row. I started a flower garden last year by planting two flowers. They did really well and I learned a lot. I’m adding dahlias this year. This was a great video!!

  46. CLeVeLaND AnGeL on November 5, 2021 at 12:26 pm

    Hi!! Marking you plants high!
Keep a hole puncher to punch a hole in the plastic tab. Use 12 gauge 6ft hanger wires (50-pack). This wire is at Home Depot used to hang drop ceilings ($17.78). Can be cut in half for a hundred. Bend the top like a shepard hook then crimp it down after you put the label on it. Thank you so much for all the info!!😁

  47. earth2survival on November 5, 2021 at 12:26 pm

Great video!! You deserve every last one of these views.

  48. Jeff Cowley on November 5, 2021 at 12:26 pm

I have raised garden beds that are 4’x3’x 8” can I grow Dahlias or would I be better off putting them in a square foot container

  49. Virginia Spindle on November 5, 2021 at 12:28 pm

U say u don’t garden for profit so what do u do it for? I know u love the flowers, as I do, but u do get a lot of stuff free and don’t u consider that profit?

  50. Meep Meep on November 5, 2021 at 12:28 pm

Carnations last a long time but don’t know how to grow them
