‘Behind the Garden Gate with Scotland’s Gardens Scheme’ is a new series of videos introducing Garden Openers of Scotland. In the second episode, John Thoumire of JT Garden Designs, interviews Shane Corstorphine at Camptoun House in East Lothian about how Shane and his family has established their garden.
Built in the early 1800s, Camptoun House is a Georgian family house surrounded by eight acres of private garden and paddocks. The gardens comprise a walled garden with herbaceous borders and rose beds, an orchard, a kitchen garden, a kids play area and a small ‘fairy wood’. Close to the house is a more formal style. The family keeps bees and favours bee and wildlife friendly planting wherever possible.
