I love this format of video. I’ve been a gardener since around 2009. It was the act of planting a handful of peas that triggered something in me to want to do more of it. From that point on, I swapped degrees from biomedical science to environmental science. I completed that degree and realised that I didn’t want to be an environmental scientist, I just wanted to be a gardener!!! I’m also a school teacher with a passion for science and just having fun at school.

Once again, I loved this format. I’ve got a pretty huge area that I’m currently guerilla gardening with access to water and is pretty secluded on a vacant lot that has been up for sale for years. We will probably be here for the next 2 or 3 years, so I thought what better way to spend my time?

Meandering through your garden with you gave me a few ideas as to how else I can modify my garden to incorporate new ways of growing and what’s going to be of most use as well as what’s going to give me gardening joy. My big passion is hot peppers, so that will be very exciting when I get a big hedge full of them. Yeah!

    All the best,
    Nick

Just discovered your channel. Love your garden and the video. You said you make a homemade pesticide. Is there anyway you can make a video on how you make it. 😊

  9. Holly Douglas on December 8, 2021 at 3:14 pm

Beautiful! The potatoes that you have can be split into multiple potato seeds. If you have a potato with 3+ root knobs on it, you can cut it (at least one big knob or two per cutting), let it dry for a few days (until the cut side dries), and then have even more to plant!

I live in Germany but I also want to start gardening and planting some vegetables but the weather in Germany is so weird like everyday it can rain and the next minute the sun shines and so on. So I wanted to know if I can still plant even tho the weather changes a lot in a day? And what happens to the plants if it snows?

  13. idoscreamforicecream on December 8, 2021 at 3:16 pm

You guys should get some chickens too! They’re perfect for composting/eating food scraps, eating pests and making fertiliser for the plants!

Cucumbers, zucchinis, melon and squashes should not grow in one bed. They compete about the sun and the nutrients. You can find more Info here: https://www.thespruce.com/companion-plants-zucchini-and-summer-squash-2540045
The same goes for peas and beans, please don‘t plant them next to each other…
But there are companion plants that can even protect each other. Do your research and you will have a bigger harvest.

We had a moth caterpillar invasion on our bell pepper plant it looks so sad is it worth letting it keep growing or is it stunted ?
