DIY Mini Solar Powered Garden Fountain One Year Update
DIY Mini Solar Powered Garden Fountain One Year Update
One year ago I installed my mini solar powered fountain / birdbath in my garden. We’re going to check in on it to see what changes I’ve made, what animals have been utilizing it as well as some maintenance and upkeep tips that I’ve used to keep it going all this time.
Check out my original Solar Fountain how to video here:
here is a link to the water pump i recommend if you would like to buy your own:

This one uses a filler bottle, like a chicken watering station.
Something similar could work for yours.

Fabulous! Thanks for update. Amazing number of critters!
I pay a bit more for a fountain which will switch off when the water is too low.
New subscriber. It’s great ideas fountain. I will definitely make one in the front porch and one in the backyard. Thanks for sharing👍🌹💐🦋🦗🐿
Great update!! It’s clearer why this works better and your camera caught the necessity of water for many needs! So interesting to see! Thanks!
Love the footage of the critters visiting the fountain! Thanks for the video!
I enjoy water features. Your solar item. Where did you get i ALSO the brand name
Hi, where is the link for the pump, I want to make this.
My advice, put in a wildlife pond. You have loads of room and it will give you x1000 the pleasure. Take a look at Wild Your Garden youtube channel.
Where did you get the saucer from?
Neat
Beautiful! Need this in our yard here in the CA desert. Off to your link! (edit) The vid of the making of this fountain was already saved. In fact, it is the only vid to be downloaded in the yr of having this tablet 💜. We’ll have at least one by July. Thank You!!!
this is awesome! and great video. i’ll definitely considering making one of these!
nice video, does the pump have auto turn off in case of low water? or would low water not hurt the pump?
I had no idea how much fun watching the birds and other wildlife would be ….now I have 4 different types …all with a bubbler such as yours. I have them where I can see them from my window… great entertainment !
👍👍👍👍👍
Ha I watched the first video and wondered how often you had to full it. Now I know. Just sub to your channel.
The best: the fox with a friend. 🐾❤️
The St. Augustine grass, live oak trees, and the rain bushes by your fountain all looked like a very familiar place to me! Looks like a nice neighborhood! Your fountain idea is wonderful, and I plan to make one for my backyard. Thank you!
Thank you for caring for the animals and birds …can you tell me what kind of pump I will need to buy ?
One of the very best
Awesome video. I’m going to make one of these. What part of the country do you live in? I’m curious because I’m concerned about the fountain freezing in the winter. It gets pretty cold here in Missouri sometimes.
Wow Jeff, you sure have a variety of visitors. Thanks for the update.
Oh my gosh!!! THANK YOU for this great video!!!
Thank you for this update – I wondered how this would work out in the long run when I saw the video where you installed this – so functional and practical! Thanks for mentioning the difference river stones made compared to gravel. I especially enjoyed seeing your visitors. I plan to do something like this where I live in the Southwestern New Mexico desert.
What did you use to hold the water ? What do you suggest of things to use for a fountain . Thank you for any help . Also can I use colored stone from the dollar store inside the counter gain ? I’d like to set up one like yours for the critters
This is wonderful. I love how you keep the fountain for the animals
The first video and this one are very clear, precise, easy to follow & very helpful! I’m on a terrace in the hot San Fernando Valley & have been noticing more dead birds than usual so I ended up here while researching for DIY solar powered bird bath/fountain solutions. Thanks!
I love the videos of your fountain visitors! Thank you! 🙂
thank you
This was a great video. Thanks for the update.
I love what you have done! I keep something similar in my garden & the birds love it!
You need more than one, obviously….we are in an apt& have 4!!!& 4 feeders with bird seed!💕
Fantastic absolutely💯⭐😎
Thanks for the update. I appreciate your love for helping the animals.
Wonderful video!! Great testimony for solar fountains!! 🙂👍
Do you use anything to control the algae between cleanings?
Great video of your little visitors! We can do a little and still help nature alot.
So cool!!
Have you thought of maybe digging a big hole and placing a bucket or container in the hole to hold a bigger reservoir of water? Or a large pot above ground with the saucer on top?
