Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m the world’s best at killing coriander. There must be some secret. Mine either just die as seedlings or bolt and die. I’m in Rockhampton, Qld, Australia. I’ve only planted in pots from seed and other-times seedlings.

Hot peppers are something I need to avoid: I don’t really enjoy having my windpipe shut down and it’s y’know, that particular allergic reaction tends to turn deadly, fast. May I suggest substituting celery seed or leaf? Does the same job, minus the allergic reaction.
