Just curious what they look like after 2 growing seasons as it’s now 2020. I did wood last year and they basically rotted and are unreadable after 1 season. How are your’s doing? I’m trying to find something waterproof that will last in RAINY Washington..Any CHEAP IDEAS? Thanks, Debbie

I was trying the wood burning idea. But it takes way too long. I am going to try the acrylic paint. I have a bunch of that around.

This is super duper. Thanks for your awesome ideas. I’m a little worried about longevity though. Utmost blessings! I’ve tried dremeling words in slate, fwiw … so I love your wood burning.

holy SHIT that is NOT EFFICIENT. We’re trying to quickly, easily and inexpensively label our shit & grow it, not waste hours crafting cute little signs. A "DEVICE???" for labeling? This shit needs to be about 5 seconds to produce a label spike and 30 to write what you need.

  20. IgnatiousOReilly on February 10, 2022 at 10:58 pm

How well did that paint pen hold up to the elements over time?

  21. 3Umphbywill on February 10, 2022 at 10:59 pm

Great tips! Would you have any ideas on using straws for garden labels? Btw, you are extremely beautiful!

Woa! An applause for that old DYMO mechanical machine! I’m 44 years old and I remember my parents using does neat devices. They turn out with excellent looking labels.

Would need to see these after a couple of month in the ground – wooden markers are notorious for quickly rotting or getting moldy. Would advise against wood for use in the UK/Central Europe.
