Hi! The link to the table top lights doesn’t seem to be linking anywhere. Could you repost? I was unable to find them on Amazon… maybe they no longer have them, I realize this is an old post. Thanks!

You are a rockstar! Very informative, super attractive with great information and a wonderful delivery. I’m glad I found this channel!

  3. Haile Clark on May 15, 2022 at 7:49 pm

Do shop lights need to have between 1500 and 3000 lumens AND 4500-6500 k? I’m having trouble finding shop lights with both. I see some either have the correct lumens or the correct k. Thanks in advance.

  4. Glenn Tiglao on May 15, 2022 at 7:49 pm

Hi Cali Kim. Woulld indoor lights work if I grow lettuce with hydrophonics?

  5. Luz Gallardo on May 15, 2022 at 7:51 pm

Hi! First amf foremost, i love your videos!!! Thank you. Inspirational and so, my kiddos and i decided to grow hot peppers, roma, picklebush and sugar babies indoors and then(hopefully) transplant them into grow bags once its time. But I don’t know if we might have a leggy problem going on. Our seeds gerninated much sooner than I anticipated my diy grow light for our box just arrived. They sprouted 2 days ago. Wish i can send a picture. But do you think they will be okay?

Great explained video on lumens & K.
Thinking about getting a LED Strip Light 300 LEDs Super Bright 7000K Cool White & cut them to 2 ft strips of 3 for my storage containers of veggies.

  7. Chris on May 15, 2022 at 7:52 pm

Great video….when do you switch over to a non seedling light bulb? and what color temp and lumens would you want when transitioning from seedling light bulb to "adult" light bulb

  8. Barb andGirls on May 15, 2022 at 7:54 pm

Hello and thank you for the great video! I wonder if you can recommend a specific grow light for houseplants. I can’t trust what I am seeing in online stores because I would like the white (daylight) color light and not yellow-ish. Thank you.

  9. Andi Elliott on May 15, 2022 at 7:55 pm

    Great ideas! Thank you.

Thank you so much for providing "coaching" that inspires and provides a well planned track. At age 79 I have moved from conventional gardening on our small "farm" to a a more compact garden. It’s a great new adventure. After watching so many approaches, it’s fantastic to let go of sorting out all the "ideas" and following a proven and imaginative plan. Lighting has been a major challenge but your explanation has cleared the fog. As a retired educator, I appreciate your teaching gift.

What size pvc pipe fit the best for the gallon milk jug? I need to build it asap. Thanks for the easy set up video!

  15. Omelio Ramirez on May 15, 2022 at 7:58 pm

I live in Miami and have a very limited indoor space, could i leave the light box outside under my roofed patio?, we have practically no cold weather. Thanks

  16. jkanclark on May 15, 2022 at 8:00 pm

I would think this would severely dry out the plant but I guess not

  17. Joanna Baldwin on May 15, 2022 at 8:01 pm

How much does it cost on the electric bill with the lights?

  18. Betty Chacko on May 15, 2022 at 8:02 pm

Thank you @CaliKim29Garden&HomeDIY! I am one of those that find this very confusing plus I am growing different crops with different needs, so I made things harder on myself. I’m practicing growing my starts for the summer. I’m trying to learn as much as I can this winter so I can improve my garden which is now going on its 3rd year! Wow time flies. I watch you and Gary from the Rusted Gardner all the time. I have learned SO MUCH from you BOTH! Thanks again for ll that you give to us new gardeners.

Thank you. I came For the light box 5:47

  25. Gedeuch Nixan on May 15, 2022 at 8:11 pm

Sure you can use regular household LED bulbs, hacksaw the plastic diffusor of, put 9- 12x 17W LED bulbs on 2×2 foot and you´re good to go. The light colour and CRI are important leading to how much PAR a light has, but there is absolutly NO difference between white LED´s in a "grow" light and a regular bulb besides the quaility of the LED itself maybe.

Great video, very helpful this was the best video explaining Grow lights! Thanks for the info!

  29. MikeB2112 on May 15, 2022 at 8:16 pm

Thanks CaliKim for a very informative video. This is my first attempt at growing indoors. I’ll be using the longer CFLs for my seedlings and plug them into smart plugs on a schedule. Wish I could automate watering as well but I guess to say I grew them I have to be involved in some capacity. Lol.

  30. Chris Bartley on May 15, 2022 at 8:16 pm

I have just watched 6 videos about lights and yours is by far the best and most concise. Love it. Thank you.

Growing indoors are much slower than outdoors with bright & direct sunlight, right?

  33. Tim Gean on May 15, 2022 at 8:25 pm

Another great video. Question – How much do I water while plants are under a grow light. Also, the 6 hours the grow light is off – during the day and the plant still gets indirect light, OR at night, does the plant need dark to sleep ??? Thanks

  34. Kylie Weber on May 15, 2022 at 8:28 pm

I think I will try out the clamp lights and or box clamp light methods 🙂

  35. Barbarajean Watts on May 15, 2022 at 8:31 pm

`IT IS TOO BAD THEY DON’T HAVE A THUMBS UP FOR "LIKE VERY MUCH" iM SURE i WOULD IS USE IT/

  36. Ti C on May 15, 2022 at 8:32 pm

I feel so dumb that I didn’t think of the PVC pipe in some sand solution for the clamp lamp until this video.
