Wonderful tips and encouragement. Here’s one back to you: Slug repellent. Sprinkle food grade diatomaceous earth around the base of your plants. It feels like broken glass to slugs and will enrich the soil even better than bone meal. My hostas never have holes, and it won’t hurt earth worms. It will kill ants, ticks, fleas, and anything with an exoskeleton. Don’t put it on leaves or flowers because it will hurt honey bees.
I put a half teaspoon in my yogurt.

Rather than dirty compost, call it biomass compost, or something hinting toward volunteer compost, as this compost could be used in beds to grow additional biomass or volunteer seedlings for the garden. Comfrey is a nice example, and having a few dandelions or nettles sprout in a container would mean that you wouldn’t need to worry about using the compost, because you might want those seeds, as free cover crop, or free livestock feed. You aren’t wrong calling it dirty compost, but I feel there is opportunity to give it a name which reflects the beneficial aspects that free seeds can have.

As tires decompose, the chemicals in the rubber leach into the soil and nearby water sources. Many of these chemicals, as well as heavy metals, are dangerous to plants, soil and aquatic systems.
Ya I know, some don’t want to hear it. At least give it a little thought.

Don’t forget to remove all* seeds from the weeds before you let them dry on top of your soil. Better is to eat the highly nutritious dandelion leaves. Nettle has several medicinal purposes & should be used as a tea. If you are on prescription meds, call your pharmacy about using nettle.
Slugs should not be handled w/o gloves as they can carry a transmittable parasite. Hammering or screwing together 2 wood boxes is better. The extra height helps with sandy, clay, or highly rocky soils. Homemade cost tea stinks super bad which doesn’t easily wash off in the shower& always use a lid
Again, the smell is awful but it’s free & it works. Organic Fertilizers are expensive
Find or buy a large soup ladle.

Stones out of heat storage heaters – please only use from heaters made after the turn of the century. The big old ones contained asbestos!
