I live in the New Orleans area (a bit to the north of it), so I think I might take a chance and see if I can grow some peas now. We occasionally can get pretty darn cold, but usually not below 25F so I think I might need to protect them during those times. I absolutely LOVE the hanging basket idea and think I will try it!!!

Kim. Can I grow all vegetables in smart pots? If so how do you know what size to get for them? I have been following your channel and it’s inspiring me for my first year of gardening. We rent so I’m unsure if I can dig in ground!

I was fortunate last season…. Planted my peas in 5gal pots in the spring under a very large tree….(reseeded every couple weeks) I had happy pea plants from spring through to the end of fall! Might have to do the same this spring! Haven’t had to soak peas yet!

arrrrrrr I was stuck at work during the livestream! You read my PEA question on the LS! 🙂 Kristy said she has soaked peas n beans. It’s been cold at night up here (upper 30s & 40s) but luckily no freezes yet. No more live streams in 2019 so everyone have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! Thanks again for reading my question!

I’m so glad I watched this video. I have stuff growing all over my kitchen. It’s kind of beginning to look like a greenhouse wannabe. I have one light using a 24” fluorescent grow light and 6 lights that I use grow light bulbs screwed into just regular clamp lights. I’ve got several containers with herbs, lettuces and 3 tomato plant varieties. I put one container in a sunny window and the rest under my grow lights. The window plants look pitiful. The very same variety of veggie plants are growing like crazy under my grow lights. They look so good that I decided to get more grow lights and have staggered planting so they aren’t all ready to harvest at the same time. The tomato plants don’t matter to me doing staggered planting since they’re all going in the garden in the spring. Some of my veggie and tomato plants will go out by my chicken coop for them to nibble on the veggies as a treat. I’m so excited for spring so I can get my garden planted.
